On a day-to-day basis, this individual will be expected to:
* Maintain proficiency and advise clients in National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO) standards, ensuring compliance and accurate assessment of municipal gravity sewer systems.
* Interpret and analyze Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) inspection data to evaluate the condition of sewer pipelines accurately.

The Senior Control Systems Application Programmer will have responsibility for programming, testing, implementing and commissioning the control system as designed. They will be responsible for coordination of the control system with the Design team, construction team and Client. They must have proven experience in PLC logic and HMI integration in any of the following PLCs (Allen Bradley, Modicon, GE, Siemens, Emerson, etc.) and HMIs (FactoryTalk, Wonderware, iFix, Ignition, VTScada, Ovation, etc. ). Primary Responsibilities
As an employee-owner in this Rail EIT/Designer role, we'll count on you to:
* Apply engineering and detailing techniques in the development of railroad or civil engineering/design activities.
* Work under the guidance and direct supervision of a Professional Engineer to serve in a technical capacity to assist in checking drawings and calculations, developing material lists and calculating quantities, and reviewing construction submittals, using structural design software programs.
* Assist with development of project deliverables, including calculations, design plans, cost estimates, specifications, and feasibility reports.
* Periodically travel to client offices or field locations and participate and assist in railroad or civil field assessments activities.
* Have a desire to work in and learn about the railroad industry and may regularly interact with clients and other rail industry professionals.
* Work closely with Project Engineers and Managers to gain the engineering experience to obtain professional engineering license.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field.
* EIT certification or ability to obtain EIT certification; candidates hired without EIT will have the title of 'Rail Designer' until certification is obtained.
* Intern or professional experience in transportation-related civil design (e.g., roadway, railroads or transit, or other linear corridor design).
* Interest in the freight railroad industry.
* A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD, and design software for layout and design.
* Experience with Bentley InRail or OpenRoads modeling software is desirable.
* Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is desirable.
* Experience with railroad design and the railroad industry is desirable.
* Good communication skills and willing to work in a team environment.
* Local candidates with the ability to periodically travel to work on field assignments and/or attend project walkthroughs to gain experience.

HDR is recognized by Engineering-News Record as a Top 10 environmental firm. HDR is looking for an Environmental Project Manager to support our Environmental Sciences and Planning Cross-Sector in the Southeast. The position is open to multiple office locations.
The Environmental Project Manager would report within the Power Environmental Practice and be in close coordination with local leadership. This role would work closely with our Resources Business Group (RBG), which focuses on power, renewable energy, waste, and industrial projects, and the Renewable Energy Practice. Candidates should be team-oriented with excellent communication skills capable of leading environmental planning, permitting, siting, and/or compliance projects.
They must be knowledgeable in current federal and state environmental planning and regulations, including preparation of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation. They would work with environmental leads in surrounding areas to staff and execute projects that include, but are not limited to, renewable energy and linear facilities (e.g., transmission line) across the Southeast. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the preparation of NEPA environmental assessments or impact statements, including management and oversight of associated technical reports. Specific experience with Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) NEPA requirements is highly desirable.
This position also requires demonstrated experience in directing the technical and administrative aspects of environmental studies; coordinating schedules; providing technical QA; and problem resolution to complete projects on time and within budget. They should be familiar with management of scopes and budgets, including project management tools.
On a day-to-day basis, the Environmental Project Manager, will be expected to:
* Plan and direct medium- to large-size environmental planning and permitting projects for transportation, water/wastewater, facilities, power, and other programs as identified.
* Prepare, plan and analyze/review technical studies, permit applications, NEPA documents, and similar reports/documents.
* Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle (from development and initiation to close-out).
* Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
* Coordinate workload through entire project development, and ensure completion of documents on schedule.
* Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is. completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule.
* Work with Business/Accounting Manager or Project Controller and Department Manager for project reviews and with company management as needed.
* Mentor mid-level and junior staff in field survey techniques (wetland delineations, stream assessments, etc.), permitting (primarily CWA), and in technical writing.
* Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for compliance.
* Accomplish work independently and through coordinating or supervising small to large technical and professional teams from local and regional offices.
* Support regional or national projects in specific areas of technical expertise.
* Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
* NEPA experience with power and/or renewable energy clients and projects, including but not limited to TVA. Specific, relevant experience working on NEPA documentation and supporting technical reports for the following types of projects is highly desirable:
o Private sector renewable energy facility interconnections to the TVA system
o TVA-led renewable energy facilities
o Other TVA power and energy projects (transmission, thermal generation, etc.)
* M.S. degree or higher in botany or related field
* Minimum 5 years' experience focusing on field botany and plant identification
* Working knowledge of the flora, both common and T&E species in the Tennessee Valley
* Contributed specimens to a herbarium or rare plant record to a state Natural Heritage program within the past 5 years
* Seller/doer approach with experience in developing client and agency relationships
* Experience with public service commission and/or local permitting presentations or testimony
* Local candidates are preferred
