HDR is looking for a Structural BIM Specialist to join our Building Engineering Services Business Group in Folsom or Walnut Creek, CA. This individual excels in a drawing production engineering technician capacity and under supervision, uses technical knowledge and electronic applications, standards, and document control processes for the purpose of creating and modifying BIM models and deliverable drawings of concrete, steel, wood and masonry structures.
In the role of Senior Structural BIM Specialist, we'll count on you to:
* Drafting and designing HDR Building Engineering Services and Municipal Water projects, including buildings, industrial and commercial structures, water treatment structures, pump stations, and foundations

The primary duties of this position include all aspects of engineering, project management, project pursuits and client relationship management for projects including contaminated materials assessment / investigation / management/compliance, including waste discharge requirement (WDR) compliance reporting, additionally, duties to include municipal solid waste (MSW), industrial type vertical facilities, and organics industries, with an emphasis on system planning, engineering analysis, cost estimating, design, construction management, pollution control systems, and permitting/regulatory compliance. Specific duties will include maintaining client relationships, proposal development support, planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of waste systems, storm water controls, groundwater monitoring, and site layout/infrastructure elements (utilities, roads, support buildings, soil borrow areas, etc.) and report writing.
The Environmental/Civil EIT will function as a project designer and assistant project manager on mid-size to large projects. This role will be responsible for assisting team leadership in sustaining and growing client relationships and organizing and contributing to overall business development opportunities. A core component of this will be supporting upcoming project opportunities and participating in the project pursuit and proposal development.
The primary duties of the Environmental/Civil EIT are to conduct, supervise or direct a multitude of waste and organics engineering projects. In this role, we'll count on you to:

* Establishing, making provisions for, and maintaining the SH&E technical proficiencies (i.e., safety training) of all Area personnel. Responsibilities include facilitating formal and awareness trainings in both field and office locations.
* Ensuring that scheduled safety & environmental compliance audits and inspections are effectively completed, including the definition and management of corrective and preventive actions; ensures SH&E compliance records are organized and maintained per applicable regulations; periodic reporting of audit results (including non-compliance) to the Project Manager and HDR Corporate SH&E.
* Establishing, maintaining, and frequently reporting Area leading and lagging Safety performance indicator metrics to Area Operations Management and HDR Corporate SH&E.
* Ensuring the effective coordination of environmental compliance sampling/testing as required by applicable permits and regulations, including interface with external laboratories relative to sampling protocol(s), chain of custody, etc.
* Where contractually obligated, and at the direction of an authorized client representative, reporting environmental non-compliance notifications to the appropriate internal and external agencies; maintaining all required documentation and records.
* Additional duties as assigned by the Area Manager, Project or Office Manager and/or HDR Corporate SH&E Department Management.
* Travel within assigned geographical area of responsibility will be approximately 50% to 70%.
* Show proficiency in SH&E auditing and industry inspection protocols, behavior-based safety observation program implementation, and development and review of Job Hazard Analysis.

* Display working knowledge of SH&E regulatory codes to include both federal and state.

The Southwest Regional Business Class (BC) Lead for Dams, Levees and Civil Works (DLCW) is responsible for the direction, coordination and quality of work for the dam, levee, civil works and flood risk management projects in the Southwest operating region of HDR.
The duties of the position are to coordinate, facilitate and provide risk management for large-scale multi-discipline and multi-benefit projects with a high degree of technical complexity. The position will build and maintain client and area business class relationships and participate in project development and contract document preparation. The person will mentor mid- and junior-level staff across a variety of disciplines to facilitate growth and quality project delivery in the region. The position will participate in and provide oversight to a variety of project types, including the following: planning, design, inspection and construction management of interior drainage and riverine flood risk management projects; dams and reservoirs; ecosystem restoration; drainage; and general site civil of major water management infrastructure.
The SW Regional BC Lead will coordinate, on a regional basis, projects with inter-related disciplines such as hydrology, hydraulics, structural, geology, geotechnical, civil, mechanical, CADD and GIS. The position will also require coordination with HDR's other regional and corporate business class technical leads (BC Practice Leads, etc.) and advisors. The position will also be expected to reinforce the Quality Management Program (QMP) and participate in staff training, as needed.
As a SW Regional BC Lead, you will participate in the corporate management of the DLCWs program. Work assignments may include technical and quality reviews of projects outside of your geographic area. HDR utilizes a robust workshare program, and it is common and expected that work is shared across the HDR network between our operational areas. You will be coordinating with regional operations management as well as corporate business class leadership. As requested by the DLCWs BC Director, you may be requested to review work scopes or work products to make sure they include appropriate limitations and assumptions. The position may also be required to work with HDR legal, project managers, business group managers and area managers in reviewing go/no go decisions, SOWs, contracts, and project pricing.

HDR's Northern California Civil Design Section is looking for a mid-level, Licensed Civil Engineer to support and lead exciting new work. The Civil Engineer in this role will receive hands-on support and professional development from experienced Senior Engineers by working on various engineering projects.
Projects will range from earthen embankment levees and dams to wetland restoration and water conveyance. The Civil Engineer will be expected to develop plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and supporting calculations in development of quantities and bid schedules. Primary Responsibilities
HDR Engineering is looking for a Structural EIT/Inspector to join our National Infrastructure Inspection Team. The Structural EIT/Inspector will be expected to perform local and national dam, hydraulic structure, and bridge inspections and occasional office engineering (design, CADD, analysis). They will also assist the lead inspector in performing inspections and preparing reports in on a regular basis.
In the role of Structural EIT/Inspector, we'll count on you to:
* Participate in local and national dam, hydraulic structure and bridge inspections
* Assist in the preparation of written reports summarizing inspections and findings
* Prepare pre inspection planning tasks including but not limited to site walks, development of health and safety plans, rigging and rescue plans, confined space entry plans, and coordinating with health and safety
* Work in a team environment and independently while challenging yourself to acquire knowledge and experience in engineering
* Support the hydraulic structure design group and other disciplines by applying structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of structural designs
* Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
* 0-2 years' bridge/structural inspection and design experience preferred
* Enthusiastic individual with a willingness to become certified as a Society of Professional Rope Access Technician (SPRAT) and work at heights.
* Must be willing to work with other disciplines (bridge design, roadway design, hydraulic analysis, stream restoration, planning, traffic control) within the office, as necessary, during inspection downtime.
* Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel for multiple night stays during the week.
* This position requires physical ability to perform field inspections of in-service dam, spillways, bridge and culvert structures, tunnel structures, highway structures, overhead sign structures, hydraulic structures, and metal traffic signal poles. Physical demands include positioning extension ladders, maneuvering small boats, driving long distances, confined space, air travel, occasionally working at night, and walking long distances on uneven surfaces.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have good communication skills and be willing to work in multi-disciplinary team environment.
* Candidate should expect exposure to environmental hazards, such as, but not limited to, warm and cold temperatures, water, work-at-height, poisonous plants, snakes, ticks, spiders, and other creatures.
