HDR is in search of a Health Planner to join our growing practice and continue the legacy of providing our clients and communities with creative design solutions that improve the health and human condition of those they serve. Primary Responsibilities Responsible for the facility and departmental planning of health and research facilities, as well as the aesthetic solution and overall design for projects that are large and/or complex in nature. This individual must be familiar with current trends in healthcare delivery, the impact of new concepts of patient and staff flow as it relates to medical planning and the impact of newly emerging technology in medical equipment and medical communications in hospitals. They will be expected to meet directly with the client, analyze the client's needs and conceive/develop architectural solutions commensurate with those needs. They will also initiate schematic designs/plans with responsibility for the preparation of presentation drawings, models and narratives. Additionally they will provide for the coordination of all disciplines related to the building design and medical planning and represent the firm by participating as a key member of the business development team in presentations to prospective clients. Finally, they will also provide guidance to other designers and work with the various engineering disciplines throughout the schematic and design development phases to ensure that the solution accommodates the engineering needs and the owner's program. Project assignments are largely within the defined region, but may extend beyond due to contact and particular expertise. #LI-JF1 Keywords: Health Planner Preferred Qualifications * Master's Degree in Architecture. * Architectural registration or currently in the process of obtaining. * Advanced credentials desired (e.g. ACHA, LEED, EDAC, etc.) * 10 years' experience in healthcare A/E/C industry. * Must have extensive knowledge and experience of healthcare architecture planning and design. * Must be capable of leading a healthcare team and making client presentations. * Strong leadership and team management skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Knowledge of the local and regional healthcare market a plus. * Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Office) * Must be willing to travel. We are looking for an energetic, talented, and technically experienced planner, who is eager to learn, to be an integral member of the Agency Staffing Group at our Long Beach office. With moderate direct supervision, the Planner I will assist our public agency clients with managing the front counter, processing minor land use entitlements such as conditional use permits (CUP's), accessory dwelling units (ADU's), sign permits and plan checks, and performing other planning department functions. More specifically, the duties of the Planner I include, but are not necessarily limited to the following: Respond to public and developer inquiries for zoning and other planning related information and otherwise assist with the operation of our clients' one-stop permit centers; Conduct project site visits and compile and tabulate information necessary to process applications; Review proposed development plans for compliance with our client's General Plan, Zoning Ordinance, and the development standards set forth therein, and any applicable design guidelines or Specific Plan requirements; Process administrative permits; Assist with the preparation of staff reports to Planning Commissions and City Councils; Assist with the preparation of Planning Commission and City Council resolutions and/or ordinances related to proposed development projects and CEQA document certification; Assist with the preparation and posting, publication, and mailing of all required public notices; Assist with the distribution of project-related documents to outside agencies, as required; Assist with scheduling and conducting public workshops/EIR scoping meetings, as deemed necessary; Assist with scheduling and conducting public hearings before Planning Commissions and City Councils; Assist with the preparation and filing of all required notices with the State Clearinghouse and/or County Clerk Offices; Conduct land use or other special planning studies, when requested; Prepare ordinances/ordinance amendments and otherwise maintain and update our client's Municipal Code, as necessary; and Perform other related duties, as assigned by our client's Community Development/Planning Director or City Manager. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Urban Studies, Geography, or related discipline; 2+ years of relevant experience; Must be bright, organized, determined, and able to build relationships with a wide variety of people; Have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams; Desire to produce first-class work products and a demonstrated personal commitment to accuracy and quality; Ability to quickly get up to speed on our policies, procedures, and relevant software while acquiring an understanding of the company's service offerings, and the standards relevant to our projects; and Willingness to work at our clients' offices at Stockton City Hall. COMPENSATION The approximate compensation range for this position is $155,521-$269,422 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. The Environmental Project Manager will be experienced technical and client leadership for large scale projects in the Transportation, Water, and Resources sectors. You would be interacting and leading HDR environmental sciences & planning staff, CEQA & NEPA practitioners, and other multi-disciplinary staff related to the preparation of complex environmental technical studies (e.g., air quality/GHG, Energy/HRA, traffic, noise/vibration, biological resources, cultural resources). The position will involve working closely with HDR leadership to drive program development across all business sectors/groups (Transportation, Water, Resources). The candidate must have a strong CEQA & NEPA technical understanding and experience in transportation, water-related programs, power, renewable energy, oil and gas, mining, or industrial sector. The candidate should possess a balanced portfolio of skills to perform business development which requires networking and developing leads, establishing/managing client relationships, and strategic thinking for both our clients and internal programs. In the role of Environmental Project Manager, we'll count on you to: * Manage the preparation of large-scale CEQA & NEPA documents for a wide range of project types/sectors. * Supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned sector; recommend measures to improve performance and increase efficiency; manage staff utilization and profitability. * Track personnel actions and staff development including support for recruiting and hiring and training measures for assigned staff. * Lead sector quality control, including assurance that quality work is planned and organized through a pro-active project management system, and implements corrective measures as needed. * Provide hands-on mentoring and team participation to create a bridge between technical resources and client requirements and ensure there is appropriate leadership and supervision engaged on technical assignments. * Work with client development leadership to prioritize the marketing and business development efforts of the organization and prioritizes business efforts that provide maximum return on investment. * Champion a quality-culture within the sector organization, and within production teams, serving the sector's clients. * Direct the technical messaging and professional attendance at professional organizations and industry events. * Promote the Drive to Zero culture where safety of staff and clients is paramount. * Interpret, implement, and enforce company policies. * Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree in environmental science or related field. * 7 years of experience in environmental technical writing, CEQA & NEPA document preparation and substantial knowledge of endangered species act and regulatory permitting requirements. * Experience with Microsoft Project and Teams * Previous consulting industry experience * Experience with California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and/or New Mexico markets, and public and private client groups Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in related field * 7 years related experience * A minimum of 2 years project management experience * Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills * An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
