HDR is seeking a Tennessee Communications Manager to join our Tennessee Transportation Business Group to lead Strategic Communications activities and Communications staff in our business group in Tennessee. The ideal candidate will work well in a team environment, enjoy tackling new challenges, have strong written and verbal communication skills, and have a passion to support the transportation planning, environmental, and engineering professions. They will be comfortable working collaboratively and independently. As a State Transportation Communications Manager, we'll count on you to: * Support Business Group leadership in delivery of projects and developing clients in Tennessee with specific focus in Nashville, Tennessee * Lead the development and implementation of project communication and engagement strategy and plans * Define messaging strategy for communication pieces, including talking points, media releases, social media, project materials, and video scripts * Manage formal and informal public meetings, hearings, open houses, workshops, advisory committees, or other stakeholder meetings * Oversee meeting logistics and vendor management * Direct task workback schedules and meeting plans * Oversee the production and distribution of outreach materials such as newsletters, websites, handouts, presentations, advertisements, door hangers, press releases, and mailings * Collaborate with specialists in social media, web, graphics, and video to produce outreach tools and materials * Collaborate with multimodal teams of planners, engineers, technical specialists, and communications specialists - at times under compressed timelines. * Direct the identification of stakeholders and manage the development of distribution lists * Direct the development and maintenance of project-specific comment management databases and responses to comment protocols * Oversee documentation of outreach activities, including activity tracking and reporting * Coordination with the HDR regional communications teams. * Support area operations management to drive growth of market sectors in the Tennessee area with specific focus in Nashville, Tennessee. * Promote and conduct branding of HDR to the industry and client community and serves as the face of HDR to executive management, board members and project management staff of clients. * Be involved in marketing planning, proposals, and interviews, as directed * Serve as a project manager for key projects, or contribute in a support role as directed. * Develop project budgets, monitor and direct tasks, provide quality control reviews, and oversight as needed. * Work with Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller and management as needed for reviews, goals, project accounting, etc. * Participate in ensuring adherence to Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures on assigned projects and deliverables. * Successful Project Delivery. * Manage and support assigned staff. * Work with HDR counterparts to develop strategies for: key hires, project pursuits, team growth, area growth and profitability, employee engagement and satisfaction. Assist the Owner and Engineer with site investigations when differing and unforeseen conditions are encountered and with Owner initiated changes. Coordinate with the Owner, Engineer, and Contractor to assure that required permits are obtained and in compliance. Prepare daily inspection reports and daily inspector photos. Monitor the progress of the work and document in the daily inspection report when, where and why progress is falling behind the approved schedule. Field verify, and Document installed bid quantities and assist with final quantity reconciliation. Inspect temporary silt fencing and other erosion and storm water control measures to assure they comply with the Contractor's storm water pollution protection plan.
