In the role of Senior Electrical Engineer we'll count on you to: * Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with the balance of a multidiscipline team throughout the entire project's development * Establish client relations, and participate in the marketing, design and production meetings with regard to electrical systems * Assume the electrical lead on many projects * Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance * Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Architect and other disciplines * Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule * Track the financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust the work effort with the team to ensure that the work is completed within the parameters of the agreed-upon schedule * Work with the Project Manager and Regional Controller for project reviews with corporate management as needed * Direct the activities of other electrical engineering professionals, and act as a mentor to other staff members as needed * Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis * 10 years experience in electrical design with expertise in water and wastewater projects * Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired #LI-EH1 Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis * A minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems); * Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. What You'll Do: The primary focus of this role will be to manage construction projects, ensuring that they are scheduled and built according to plans and specifications, overseeing budget and communications, and overseeing the design and safety during construction. Key Responsibilities: Review plans for conformance with applicable specifications, building codes, regulations, etc. Act as a liaison between clients, contractors, and design professionals. Review/develop cost estimates, change orders, requests for information and project submittals. Report project status regarding budget, schedule, and workmanship to project owners. Review technical & price proposals, task budgets and invoices by utilizing/collaborating with clients' Internal Services Departments (i.e. Marketing, Accounting/Finance, Contract Administrators, etc.). Collaborate and coordinate with other support team members such as Landscape Architecture, Electrical, Traffic, Plan Review, Program Management, Environmental, Utilities, Hydraulics, Bridge, Geotech, Material Testing and others to ensure delivery of projects on schedule and budget. Oversee contract correspondence. Resolve disputes between contractors and project owners. Monitor and assess project staffing needs. Supervise inspectors, materials testers and other PRIME associates assigned to a project. Other duties as assigned. What You'll Bring: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent. Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE), or Construction-Manager-In-Training (CMIT), or Project Management Professional (PMP), or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of project management practices and principles. Working knowledge of CPM scheduling, materials testing and other engineering practices and principles. Knowledge and ability to interpret construction contracts and plans. Why PRIME AE? We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer I (PE Level ) to join our Akron, Columbus or Jacksonville offices. What You'll Do: In this role, you will lead the design of complex electrical systems across a wide range of building types and markets. You will also collaborate closely with field staff, general contractors, architects, and other engineers to ensure design integrity and compliance throughout the construction process. Project types include Military/Department of Defense facilities and bases, Healthcare, Federal, Justice, K-12, Higher Education, Corporate Commercial, Pharmacy, Retail, Multifamily & Assisted Living, Hospitality, Cultural & Historic, Data Centers, Industrial, and Residential. Key Responsibilities: Create and evolve system designs from concept to final construction document phase. Perform analyses and apply problem solving techniques in order to develop creative, innovative solutions. Perform a variety of complicated tasks and critical thinking. Mentor other engineers within the MEPFT department. Review, understand, and apply local, state and federal codes and standards related to the design and construction of project facilities. What You'll Bring: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program. Targeting a minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical design. An active and good-standing Professional Engineering License is required within the state for which this position is based. Knowledge of electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, grounding/bonding, fire alarm, telephone/data, and other low voltage systems (paging, nurse call, etc.). Required systems and software expertise includes AutoCAD, Revit, power analysis software such as SKM, and lighting photometric calculation software such as Visual. Healthcare and Federal design skills or related experience a strong plus but not required. Familiar with a variety of field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Must be able to follow and properly apply market specific guidelines, the practices and policies of the associated local and building codes, discipline, divisions and firm. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage and design independently with minimal supervision on projects from the beginning to the end.
