    Posting Title Head Football Coach The Athletic Department supports the academic mission of the University by providing programs and services to enable students to engage in physical activities as an integral part of the overall educational experience. Opportunities for participation are provided at the intercollegiate, club, and recreational program levels. Catholic University is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, Landmark Conference. As a member of NCAA Division III, the University places the highest priority on the overall quality of the educational experience and the successful completion of the academic programs by student-athletes. The Athletic Department seeks to provide programs and leadership to enable CUA to be a model NCAA Division III institution in academic and athletic excellence.The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation, is: $77,000 to $105,000 Responsibilities Manage all aspects of CUA's Division III football program, including coaching, staff supervision, recruiting,retention of student athletes, fiscal management, fundraising and facility assistance. 1. Coaching, Training, Instruction: Perform as a professional educator and role model to enable individual students to develop as student-athletes and to work together as a successful, competitive intercollegiate team. Provide practice and game planning, implementation, and assessment, including but not limited to management of schedules, athletic participation and support services, facilities, marketing, promotion in close collaboration with other colleagues and service providers.2. Recruitment: Lead the recruitment of student-athletes who demonstrate the potential to be successful academically and by competing on the football program.3. Academic Oversight: Mentor and monitor the academic success of the student-athletes.4. Budget Planning and Fiscal Management: Provide sound business and financial management in areas including but not limited to expenses, operating budgets, procurement of goods, services and equipment, accounting.Collaborate with the Advancement office to align fundraising efforts with team and department needs.5. Compliance/Certification: Ensure compliance with national, local, university, NCAA, and Landmark Conference laws, regulations, standards, and codes. (Note: The violation of NCAA and conference rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.)6. Supervision: Recruit, supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate associated staff.7. Special Events: Cultivate and supervise special events (i.e., various camps, outside groups related to Catholic University).8. Facilities: Assist with facility supervision as appropriate.9. Strength and Conditioning: Support the department's strength & conditioning coach in the supervision of workout-related programs for the football team. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree with with five (5) years of proven success coaching at the high school and/or collegiate level. Additionally, the head coach must have a thorough knowledge of recruiting circles throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. Proficiency in computer, film and recruiting software and applications: Word, Excel, Office, Hudl, Front Rush, ARMS, Scoutware, etc. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed ● Strong knowledge of fundamental intercollegiate coaching roles, responsibilities and the coaching process; with the ability to translate these competencies into action and athletic achievement. ● Ability to develop and communicate programs to enable students to grow in their competitive football skills.● Ability to develop and communicate a mission and vision to implement a successful intercollegiate football program.● Strong communication and collaboration with sports medicine, communications, strength and conditioning and other offices that affect the mental and physical health, wellbeing and general student-athlete experience. ● Strong service orientation and ability to relate effectively with diverse individuals and groups at all levels of an organization.● Ability to work collegially and collaboratively.● Proven "hands on" and energetic leader.● Demonstrated ability to be productive, deliver high quality work, take initiative, use good judgment and solve problems.● Strong interpersonal, community development and negotiation skills.● Must be able to generate the confidence and trust of individuals and the extended campus community.● Solid financial management skills.● Ability to communicate effectively by using a wide variety of tools and mediums.● Strong ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and handle heavy workloads under pressure and within deadlines.● Ability to produce quality results with given resources.● Knowledge and skills with automated computer systems, new technologies to support program operational needs; skill with use of university systems within three months of appointment.
