In this newly created role, you will have the opportunity to build and lead a global legal contracts function Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer (General Counsel) you will play a key role in preparing and negotiating agreements across the entire organization. You will also perform general corporate legal work to support Amylyx' operation as a public company.
We are looking for an experienced biotech/pharmaceutical industry contracts attorney with expertise across a broad range of agreements. Additionally, you will have a passion for partnering with internal teams dedicated to the advancement of science and innovation in drug development and patient care.
You will independently manage workflows and projects, and partner with external counsel as needed depending on the complexity and/or sensitivity of agreements you are managing.
Responsibilities:
* Develop the contracting legal function and provide education and integration of policies and processes to company stakeholders, including:
* Development of template agreements and alternative terms and negotiation practices
* In partnership with finance oversee the contract processes and cycle time; recommend new processes/ improvements as needed
* Implementation and oversight of a contracts management system
* Prepare and negotiate agreements including, Master Service Agreements, clinical trial agreements, development and manufacturing agreements, sponsored research agreements, consulting agreements, confidential disclosure agreements, material transfer agreements, and license and collaboration agreements
* Provide proactive counseling to internal clients on the following:
* Advising on contractual rights and obligations
* Ensuring contracts are compliant with legal regulations and company policies
* Risk management and allocation, and disputes
* Provide legal support relating to business development activities as needed
* Provide public company legal support including working with members of the legal and finance teams on SEC filings and oversight on the company's insider trading policies
Requirements:
* JD from accredited law school and license to practice in at least one US jurisdiction
* Minimum 10 years' experience in contracts negotiation and administration in a biotech or pharmaceutical company required
* Prior experience in a publicly held biotech or pharmaceutical company required
* Prior experience leading/building a contracts function a plus
* Ability to provide clear and concise contracts advice and partner with individuals at all levels of the company
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

DIVISION: Extended School Enrichment/Summer Camp Series
REPORTS TO: Site Supervisor
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt; Part-Time - $16.00 - $17.50, *$1,000 New-Hire Bonus*
Purpose of Position:
The purpose of this position is to work in a leadership capacity at a site-specific level. This position will engage with children grades K-6, to work as part of a team whose purpose is to competently and enthusiastically create and facilitate enrichment activities, assist with K-6 student homework, and provide a safe, enriching, and character-driven environment for students enrolled in the Extended School Enrichment (ESE) program (school-year and summer).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Lead site-specific Extended School Enrichment part-time staff.
Plan, create, organize, and facilitate a variety of daily enrichment and academic activities, including but not limited to arts, sports, science, homework, and literacy that corresponds to state standards using established templates and guidelines.
With team, supervise up to 125+ children, from grades K - 6, throughout all aspects of the daily program.
Follow program structure, including individual success plans, to decrease disruptive student behaviors and increase positivity and safety.
Consistently model and guide students in character development through actions, activities, and dialogue.
Implement and model respect for all spaces and materials used, ensuring they are well maintained and left as found, including buses and field trips.
Communicate with parents/guardians or visitors; provide information and assistance and initiate the problem resolution.
Assist with discipline cases involving program participants; reports case to supervisor as appropriate.
Disseminate information about programs, special events, program fees and department policies and procedures to the public in a polite and effective manner.
Responsible for input of student data and payments for Extended School Enrichment on a daily basis.
Monitor inventory levels of ESE site-specific supplies; initiate orders for new or replacement materials.
Keep files up to date and organized.
Attend and participate in professional development meetings and trainings.
Use excellent customer service skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and all members of the general public
Enforce applicable rules and regulations with program participants.
Ensure adherence to established safety procedures; monitor work environment and use of safety equipment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals.
