Adaptimmune is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel immunotherapy products for people with cancer. The Company's unique SPEAR (Specific Peptide Enhanced Affinity Receptor) T-cell platform enables the engineering of T-cells to target and destroy cancer across multiple solid tumors.

The Director, Global HR Operations will be the pioneering position to provide global operational direction and support working as the expert on operational activities specifically related to all HR systems and process ensuring compliance in all areas globally. The role will work under the direction of the US HR leader to build a global strategy towards a HR Operations COE to meet the growing business and the evolution of the HR model at Adaptimmune. This position will work closely and as needed with the Global Head of HR to ensure evolution of the global HR model and own the function, have the ability to operate autonomously, working both strategically and tactically to achieve results.
Key Responsibilities

* Review, Build and Improve HR operational processes to have global consistency and results. Collaborate with HR leadership on system/operations roadmap for operations strategy with the objective of building an HR Operations COE.
* Responsible to oversee the current HR system (Pulse/Cascade), data structures, workflow process and upon approval lead implementation and maintenance of new global HRIS. Analyze master and employee data, ensure accuracy and develop tools to audit and report data quality on a continuous basis.
* Lead and implement continuous improvement efforts to drive use of technology, self-service tools, and process efficiency both within HR and cross-functionally. Establish collaborative relationship with Finance and IT to ensure cross functional partnership and impact.
* Act as liaison between business process owners and technical vendor support. Includes oversight of outsourced payroll in both US and UK. Provide troubleshooting support for all system data related issues, including coordinating with vendors and internal teams. Vendor management in US for system integrations and issues - Currently ADP payroll.
* Establish a global approach to HR metrics, creating reports, slides, and charts as part of HR analytics.

Qualifications & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Information Systems, HR, or Business.
* Significant HR Operations/Systems experience. Experience supporting a global growing organization in both the UK and US is desired
* Previous hands on experience implementing and supporting a global systems (HRIS) is required.
* Must have understanding or experience with Payroll Systems (preferably an outsourced model), Integrations and experience with vendor management
* Must have experience in SOX audit compliance
* Previous experience of operating in a HR Partner, COE and HR Operations Model

A little about you: Bachelor's degree is required; law degree strongly preferred.Experience building compliant programs utilizing industry best practices to meet requirements from various global regulators including FinCEN, OFAC, and FinTRAC.Minimum of 10 years experience with AML and sanctions compliance in the US and Canada including a minimum of 3 years in a senior role.Minimum of 5 years experience managing, building and scaling compliance teams (inclusive of transaction monitoring, sanctions and KYC programs).Specific experience implementing and scaling operational controls necessary for a successful compliance program.Successful track record preparing and undergoing internal audit reviews and external regulatory examinations.Strong ability to communicate clearly, effectively and timely with stakeholders, management, and colleagues.Ability to interpret and disseminate the impact and requirement of new laws and regulations, with particular focus on US, Canada, EU, and UK regions.Excellent time management, attention to detail, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.You love to learn, work within a diverse group of dedicated Team Members, and have fun (you will be asked for a fun fact on day 1).
