In 1975, Lorene Rogers became the first female member when she was elected president of the University of Texas at Austin.
In 1983, the Headliners Club formalized its awards program into an organization dedicated to promoting excellence in journalism.
The 1983 fundraising effort garnered $125,000 which was added to by a $40,000 contribution from the Club’s coffers.
The Tuesday Club’s first meeting was on April 15, 1986, with Mr.
Since 1986, the Club has hosted panels, performances, and lectures by experts in assorted fields from Texas, the country, and around the world.
