There are several things that I tell students and new graduates embarking on their career. The first is to find an organization where your values are aligned with their mission, vision, and values. Health administration is ultimately about caring for people and staff. Also, be open to different experiences and learning new things while on the job; ask for additional projects if time allows. A career in health administration isn't a typical 9-5 job and the more experience you have with different aspects of health care, then the more value you will bring to your organization. Make yourself indispensable to your organization by being inquisitive, proactive, and thorough.
