Provide information to the patient regarding billing, visiting hours and hospital specific literature where warranted. Pre-registers patients for scheduled admissions and outpatient procedures, verifying insurance information and making sure a complete order is secured. Consults other departments as appropriate to provide information needed for patient safety and care. Answers incoming calls from departments to make necessary patient status changes in system. Distributes appropriate information to departments as warranted. Make sure chart copies are scanned for Medical Records and auditing. Collects or makes arrangements to collect co-payments and/or co-insurance due at time of service. Records payments in computer database.
