The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist operates MRI equipment to capture detailed images for diagnostic evaluation. The MRITechnologist ensures customer/patient safety, and comfort, follows established imaging protocols, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, while collaborating with healthcare teams to produce high-quality scans for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
* Maintains a safe environment with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment for customers/patients, coworkers, and self by adhering to MRI safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
* Properly screens patients for MRI safety and effectively documents and communicates pertinent and required information pre-and-post procedure performance.
* Positions patients for (Magnetic Resonance) MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with department safety procedures and protocols.
* Produces images consistent with image quality standards and evaluates MR scans for technical quality.
* Properly identifies, prepares and administers medications that are within the MRITechnologist's scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
* Maintains flexibility, adapts to changes in workflow processes and the needs of the Health First organization based upon fluctuations in patient volume.
* Communicates effectively with customers (patients, LP, other Health First associates, the public, etc.) always using excellent customer relation skills.
* Follow all Federal, State and Regional healthcare regulations and adhere to the Joint Commission/ACR standards.
* Provides orientation and education for new technologists and assist radiologists in developing new protocols and MR imaging techniques.

* American Registry for Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) - Accredited Program OR
