Under the direction of the Medical Director and Cardiopulmonary Rehab Coordinator, the incumbent will be able to implement and supervise all aspects of the outpatient cardiopulmonary rehab exercise program and possess the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary treatment plans. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: patient/client assessments relevant to exercise science; preparation and development of individual exercise prescription in accordance with established guidelines and policies; exercise leadership and performance; conduction of metabolic graded exercise testing; demonstration of competent instruction and counseling techniques to promote changes in health/behavior; preparation and delivery of relevant education material to various patient/client populations; demonstration of thorough knowledge in cardiopulmonary anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, cardiopulmonary diagnostic techniques, and various metabolic disorders; demonstration of the ability to monitor, detect and report inappropriate responses to exercise and changes in cardiopulmonary status; assistance with emergency care in accordance with policies; maintenance and calibration of program equipment. All duties and standards within this job title will be performed according to the established policies, procedures, and guidelines outlined in the department and Mary Rutan Hospital policy and procedure manuals. Regulatory Requirements B.S. degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, kinesiology, or other related field of study. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association. ACLS preferred. Current ACSM certification preferred. Language Skills Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills. Skills Basic computer knowledge.
