The Executive Director of Nursing (EDON) is a registered professional nurse who provides leadership and
management for five (5) to twenty (20) cost centers for a specific service line through the application of
advanced competencies in communication; job knowledge, professionalism and business skills. This executive is
a member of the chief nursing officer's or AVP Nursing's administrative team and serves as their designee for
assigned responsibilities. This leader effectively partners with hospital leadership, medical staff and other
departments to create a center of
excellence for their service line and to meet the hospital's vision, mission and goals. This role has a range of
approximately 200 - 600 FTEs in a medium or large complex case setting that is 350 to 800 beds. This EDON
also handles a budget with a range from 60 to 300 million dollars.

departments and who comprise their specialty service line. He/she is a standard bearer and holds leaders and
staff accountable for the delivery of safe, quality care and services through effective communication, fiscal
accountability, and employment of transformational leadership., instilling an accountability-based
practice setting. The executive director of nursing serves as sponsor for performance improvement; inspires
others to seek opportunities to grow and improve their performance and successful applies lean and evidenced
based practice to ensure all targets pillar outcomes are achieved. This executive employs all safety first
interventions and as the chief safety officer creates a culture of safety for his/her service line through the
development/use of these skills by other leaders, physicians and staff. He/she effectively uses data and
technology to make decisions and proactively mitigates unnecessary risks for his/her area of responsibility
providing instruction and mentoring for assigned leaders to be able to do the same. This executive ensures that

Job Summary:The Director of Pharmacy shall provide oversight, direction, strategic planning and coordination for the operational, clinical, financial and related services provided by the assigned WellStar hospital. The Director of Pharmacy will be positioned to collaborate with the other directors in the system to ensure the best decisions are made regarding policies, procedures, and systems that support safe, effective and efficient medication use. This will include leadership in the design, operation and improvement of the organization's medication use process. Services shall comply with the policies and procedures established by the WellStar Health System, federal, state and local laws governing the practice of pharmacy, and the standards and requirements established by the regulatory agencies (e.g. TJC, Medicare, State Board of Pharmacy, etc.) supervising the provision of health care. The Pharmacy Director reports directly to the Assistant Vice President of Operations.

Medication Use: Responsible for the creation and development of an evidence based, best practice medication use system at assigned facility, Department of Pharmacy, with impact considerations for the WellStar Pharmacies across the system.

Has anesthesia-related experience in variety of surgical specialties including trauma and emergency situations. Has knowledge regarding biomedical equipment. Must be flexible with schedule and understanding in the urgency of care with patients undergoing anesthesia. Schedule may be altered by manager when other staff members are on vacation and / or when the needs of the schedule dictate. Must be available to take call as required. Must be able to respond in the OR within 30 minutes of notification. Must demonstrate positive teamwork, behavior and communication. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Assists the perioperative team in the operating room with surgical procedures, including but not limited to general, orthopedic, neurological, spine, plastic, ENT, vascular, thoracic, GYN, oral and trauma procedures. Administers direct and in-direct care for patients undergoing the above procedures with supervision from licensed personnel. Set up anesthesia supplies in OR suites Picks up patients for surgery and assists patient transport to and from holding areas to surgical suites and to recovery areas if applicable. Obtain supplies/equipment needed by anesthesia and OR staff throughout procedures as needed. Assists RNs and surgical technicians with room set up, supply management and patient charges if applicable. Assist the anesthesia team as directed with peripheral, spinal blocks or epidural blocks. Duties and responsibilities include; interfacing and supporting other team members in the Operating Room, PACU, ICU, GI Lab, Vascular Institute, L&D and other departments as needed with cross training in monitoring, stocking, setting up, testing and troubleshooting equipment and assists with nursing and anesthesiology duties. Maintains all equipment pertaining to anesthesia in the operating room and other locations where anesthesia services are provided.
