Mr. Luna has 25 years of experience providing strategically-aligned enterprise solutions across multiple industries, having spent much of his career with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of North Carolina where he served in multiple leadership roles within the IT organization. As Chief Information Officer for Healthesystems, Brett works closely with our CMO and other senior executives to ensure that our PBM and ABM solutions reflect evidence-based medical practice guidelines. Mr. Luna guides the development of innovative tools that enable claims professionals to recognize risks within workers’ compensation claims, enabling them to intervene as soon as possible to minimize or eliminate them. Other IT capabilities that Mr. Luna is accountable for at Healthesystems span all domains of IT and include: enterprise architecture, enterprise opportunity management practices, application development, infrastructure services, information security, data management, and integration for both internal systems and external stakeholders and business partners.

Mr. Luna has progressed through advancing leadership roles over 15 years, including eight years in the US Marine Corp where his leadership skills flourished, allowing him to provide executive leadership for IT staff, resources and initiatives, including product innovation, architecture, application development, integration, system engineering, strategic planning, SDLC methodologies, change leadership, and vendor management.

Mr. Luna has spent much of his career designing, implementing, and leading innovative IT solutions that include: On-premise and cloud-based assets and solutions (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS), numerous healthcare-focused business applications, world-class integration capabilities that leverage service oriented architectures, and award-winning high availability and global D/R solutions for Cisco Systems and Boeing. Mr. Luna also has a broad and deep understanding of information security challenges and opportunities that exist for healthcare IT.
