The Drop In Volleyball Staff Member is responsible for ensuring smooth operations of drop-in volleyball sessions at the JCC. This role involves setting up and breaking down equipment, handling participant check-ins and payments, organizing teams, and supervising play. Weymouth Club, Energy Center - is currently seeking individuals to work on the Energy Center Floor. The ideal candidate is high-energy, responsible, outgoing and has a love of children. This position offers a great opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience within the childcare industry. Time Commitment: This is a part-time position, approximately 7-10 hours per week, afternoons and weekend availability necessary. Hours/days available are Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-7pm or 7:30pm depending on the day. Saturday and/or Sunday 8:00am-1pm. We ask you to have at least 2 days you are available per/week. Direct Supervisor: Club Manager, Operations Manager, Front Desk/Maintenance coordinator Job Summary: As a member of the Parkpoint employee team, the Front Desk Receptionist/Maintenance staff person is to demonstrate the Parkpoint Mission (see above) and Core Values of Excellence, Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Community and Health and Well Being at all times and in all interactions with members, staff, and managers. They are to work as a team to provide Parkpoint's standard of excellence in customer service, and to maintain overall club cleanliness and maintenance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reception Duties: Smile, make eye contact, and greet all members, prospective members, and guests by name in a prompt, friendly and professional manner. Provide personalized customer service and develop a friendly rapport with all members. Provide assistance and information to facilitate a positive experience for every member and guest. Reach out to new members and welcome them into the Parkpoint community. Check-in members, check account status, and other computer responsibilities. Register guests and non-members, and collect appropriate fees as needed. Answer phones in a professional and friendly manner. Answer questions, take reservations, direct calls to the appropriate staff person or member; page and make announcements over the intercom when necessary; use the voice mail system when applicable. Address any member's concerns in a friendly and pro-active manner, listen empathetically, offer options, and follow up with the appropriate manager. Maintain a clean, organized, presentable front desk area, lobby and reception area. Monitor supplies and report needs to your supervisor. Perform required opening and closing duties per the checklist when scheduled. Communicate regularly with supervisors and staff to let issues be known. Qualifications Job Qualifications/Requirements/Certifications: Must have reliable transportation to work. Hold and maintain a current CPR and AED certification (within 90 days of hire) Complete Anti-Harassment training Complete RBS Training if applicable Outgoing, friendly personality; positive attitude; team player Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills Demonstrate proficiency on the computer and of basic math skills Multitask, work under pressure and maintain a positive customer service orientation Maintain regular attendance and punctuality Possess excellent written, reading, and verbal English speaking and professional phone skills. Able to stand for up to 6 - 8 hours; walk and move quickly; climb stairs; kneel; bend from the waist; reach overhead; lift, push and pull 25 - 50 pounds. Ability and willingness to work with cleaning chemicals and pool and spa chemicals as needed. Sales and promotional aptitude a plus

PREREQUISITES: Basic life support (CPR), First Aid, AED certification within 90 days of hire date Must be punctual Must have good human relations skills to facilitate positive relationships with members and staff Must promote all programs for the YMCA and Fitness Department Must be able to work with all populations: children, teens, adults, men and women Must be familiar with emergency procedures Must be flexible with schedule including holidays GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The Fitness Floor staff is responsible for providing knowledge and demonstration of exercises in a safe and correct manner and maintain the cleanliness of the strength, cardio and group fitness areas. Fitness Floor staff must possess organizational, human relations and communications skills. Fitness background is a plus. Must be able to lift #45. RESPONSIBLITIES: Provide Equipment Orientations Must be able to help members fill out the Par-Q form Obtain information concerning any limitations, past or present injuries, and medications Inquire about goals and previous exercise programs Provide thorough demonstrations of each machine and set the seat height, arm adjustments (when necessary) and a comfortable weight for each exercise Oversee Cardiovascular Floor Demonstrate use of machines to members, keeping in mind their goals and history Perform maintenance and cleaning of all cardiovascular equipment Pick up magazines, magazine holders and trash on the floor Oversee Strength Floor Demonstrate exercise technique when asked outside of equipment orientations Spot members during lifting Perform maintenance and cleaning of all strength equipment Give Fitness Evaluations (must be a personal trainer) Oversee each part of the evaluation: body fat measurements, sub-max cardiovascular test, bench press test, half sit up test, sit and reach flexibility test. Answer exercise related questions Be informed about the most effective weight training methods approved by the YMCA and be able to perform and teach these new methods to all members in a manner that promotes quality and consistency. Attend all staff meetings Represent and promote the YMCA, its goals, philosophies and mission, in a way that reflects the true character and image of the “Y” Dress in a professional manner. Wear YMCA black fitness staff shirt with black, khaki or grey pants/shorts. Tennis shoes should be worn. Open toed shoes and sandals are NOT allowed. Maintain general facility cleanliness Pick up paper in the locker rooms. Close locker doors. A walk through should be done in the locker rooms every hour. Vacuum, sweep and mop all fitness related areas Clean mirrors Wipe all equipment down on a regular basis to ensure cleanliness and a safe environment for all members.
