Performs maintenance and preventive tasks including clock functioning, lighting, painting, carpentry, plumbing, washer, and dryers, and electrical as assigned. Performs preventive maintenance and daily maintenance on all swimming pools, whirlpools, saunas, and steam rooms as scheduled. Maintains appropriate records of pool chemical levels and maintains pool operator's certification. Performs maintenance on fitness equipment as required. Performs preventive maintenance on all kitchen equipment, checks and inspects all kitchen equipment to ensure consistent operation. Maintains all ceiling tiles in facility in like-new condition or replaces, as necessary. Reviews Facility Tracker and updates daily to track progress toward assigned tasks and goals. Works with Fire Department and all certification organizations to ensure safety of the facility. Oversees facility/building contracts (Johnson Controls, Pest, Fire Alarms, landscaping, snow removal, roofing. Approve all invoices related to building contracts, repairs, maintenance, housekeeping. Partners with hospital construction and facility teams to ensure hospital standards are met on all projects and upgrades. Consults and troubleshoots with facility technicians at other sites to ensure most cost-effective and safe solutions are met. Responsible for member satisfaction of the building/facility. Checks, inspects, and ensures appropriate function of all drains, showers, sinks, toilets, and urinals within the facility and performs preventative maintenance and repairs as needed. Maintains steam generation systems for steam rooms are 100% functional at all times. Assist with special projects as required including moving and storage of equipment, furniture etc., exterior building maintenance, light carpentry, exercise equipment repair and painting and patching of walls. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED 3 - 5 years of experience in a commercial business, preferably health care, hospitality, or fitness center Strong mechanical skills to trouble shoot all major systems, including pools, pumps, HVAC, electric, plumbing, steam. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is required within 60 days of hire. Experience tending various types of boilers leading to high pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment required. Training and/or experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of specialized equipment, fixtures or systems related to heating, ventilating, air conditioning, plumbing, piping, and/or swimming pools required. Experience in the use of computerized energy management and preventive maintenance systems. Must be able to prioritize tasks and budget time for timely completion of assigned duties in appropriate sequence. Must be able to appropriately determine when assistance is needed for safe performance of job duties. Must be able to work within set standards when carrying out job duties. Must be able to determine and select supplies and equipment suitable for tasks assigned. Must be able to trouble-shoot equipment in order to determine reason(s) for and repairs needed to correct malfunctions or failures to operate. Responsible for officiating recreational leagues on a seasonal basis. Key Accountabilities Officiate basketball games and instruct players on the rules of the game as necessary.
