Promote teamwork through demonstration of a courteous and cooperative attitude to all customers. PREFERRED: Six months of related medical training or experience. Typing or keyboard skills. Performs phlebotomy and prepares specimens for analysis as needed or assigned to ensure a high level of quality is maintained. Perform computer functions including test requisition, test resulting, and quality documentation according to standard protocols. Performs high complexity laboratory testing according to protocol. Evaluates specimens for specimen integrity and accurate and complete labeling. Evaluates patient results for reasonableness. Performs instrument maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting as scheduled or needed. Maintains appropriate documentation. Responds by following established protocols. Participates in annual technical competency program, which may include conducting direct observations. Participates in proficiency testing in all areas of competence.
