You'll also have the opportunity to follow the family through the entire birth process through labor, delivery and during postpartum until the patient is discharged. The RN will also: Provide care and education for the OB patient and newborn, demonstrates good assessment skills and utilizes critical thinking. Focus on best practice. Demonstrate good communication skills in communicating with physicians, co-workers and patients. Help in maintaining the department and assisting with tasks related to the unit. Work Schedule: 0. 65 FTETwelve hour shifts Evenings/NightsWeekend and Holiday rotation Required Qualifications: Current Wisconsin RN license. Current CPR certification. STABLE certification within 6 months of hire. NRP certification within 6 months of hire. ACLS certification within one year of hire.     Regions Hospital is seeking a dynamic RN for a busy L/D and Antepartum unit. This role will orient to circulator and scrub RN roles for the OB OR and care for newborns needing routine care. In addition, this position will orient and work on postpartum unit as needed. Our nursing staff are key to the exceptional care we provide each patient. Regions Hospital supports nurses with an individualized orientation including Transition to Regions Hospital Practice program which is a nurse residency structured program to support learning, role transition, and retention of nurses. All new hire registered nurses at Regions Hospital will be automatically enrolled. Our award-winning programs give our patients and their families a place of comfort and healing. Featuring 160,000 square feet - 13 Labor and Delivery rooms, 2 operating rooms, 24 Postpartum rooms, and 7 NICU rooms. Our Level 2 NICU features 7 private rooms including 1 twin room for a total of 8beds, each with an adjoining family space and bathroom to keep families connected. Regions Hospital is one of the few hospitals in the country to feature the Enhanced Couplet Care model. 5 of our Postpartum rooms are outfitted with a full NICU headwall, allowing a subset of our NICU babies to stay in the Postpartum room with their families and avoid separation. This evidence-based model of care provides many benefits including improved weight gain, more effective feedings, and fewer hospital readmissions. The Birth Center at Regions has approximately 2800 births annually with 15-20% of babies requiring some amount of NICU-level care. We are dedicated to diversity and inclusion, with 60% of our patient population being people of color, and 25% requiring interpreters for their care. Our unit provides care to low risk & high risk culturally diverse obstetrical patients. We have received the highest ranking from the Institute for HealthCare Improvement (IHI) for patient safety. We are proud to support the largest midwife practice in the Twin Cities and note that over half of our deliveries are done by midwives. We work as an interdisciplinary team with physicians, midwives, residents, and students. Services we provide include water births for low-risk patients, and we strive to accommodate individual patient birth plans. Our unit provides care to high-risk obstetrical patients and we have a full service medical team in house 24 hours per day to support any emergent situation. L&D nurses provide primary care to patients in antepartum, in active labor and in the maternal outpatient assessment area. Work Schedule: 0.70 Nights. 8 hour shifts during the week; 12 hour shifts every 3rd weekend. Required Qualifications: -Degree in Nursing -Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota -CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers -Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and strong ability to work with a wide range of patients from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds Preferred Qualifications: -BSN/MSN strongly preferred and generally expected that BSN/MSN is obtained within 5 years of hire -Previous OB experience preferred -One year of acute care RN experience is preferred Benefits: Regions Hospital offers a competitive benefits package (.5 FTE or greater) that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, 401K with match, disability insurance, and tuition reimbursement. Under the supervision of the Emergency Medicine Department (EMD) staff physician on duty, this role provides direct care to patients 13 years of age or older who indicate sexual assault has occurred within the past 240 hours. This role also assesses follow-up needs, provides information, and makes community referrals as needed. They will document the history and physical examination findings and may be required to testify to these findings in a court of law. This role will attend a minimum of 6 staff meetings a year, as well as mandatory education sessions when new products or processes are introduced. Performs other duties as assigned. Interviews to be held the week of 10/30 with orientation dates 11/10, 11/12, & 11/13. Work schedule: Per Diem, as needed. Required Qualifications: Graduate of an approved nursing, medical or PA School. Previous completion of 40-hour SANE course required. Must possess a valid license as an RN, MD or PA issued by the State of Minnesota. Must attend an International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) approved SANE Clinical Skills Lab prior to hire, or within 1 month of hire on their own time, which is tracked by department. Current AHA CPR certifications required. RN will maintain current AHA CPR certification.
