The RN Resident coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN Resident provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN Resident serves as an advocate for patients, families and caregivers to support an unparalleled patient experience.
What will you do in this role:
Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strive to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.

**Job Duties**
+ Plans and/or implements operational processes for Risk Adjustment operations that meet state and federal reporting requirements/rules and are aligned with effective practices as identified in the healthcare quality improvement literature and within Molina plans.
+ Develops and implements targeted collection of clinical data acquisition related to performance reporting and improvement, including member and provider outreach.

Job Summary and Qualifications
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Pathologists' Assistant is a staff position responsible for assisting pathologists in performance of surgical pathology services. Under the general supervision of the pathologist, works independently when performing professional duties associated with examination and/or preparation of the surgical pathology specimens.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
* Responsible for the organization of and efficiency of workflow processes in the frozen section and gross examination areas.
* Work closely with on-site Pathologists in determining grossing priorities.
* Take instruction from on-site Pathologists with respect to grossing technique and quality assessment.
* Confer with and share with other HCA pathologist assistant's relevant information that would facilitate productivity and expand knowledge base.
* Triage specimen received from surgery; dictate gross findings on selected specimen using appropriate terminology; refer tissue sections for microscopic review by Pathologist or Resident.
* Select and identify tissue for microscopic study; determine proper fixative solutions in which tissue will be maintained.
* Perform specialized procedures such as frozen sections and decalcification; maintain and coordinate specimen and records for specialized procedures using appropriate protocols; submit request for special histological procedures and special stains when appropriate.
* Maintain records of surgical pathology specimen dissections and dictation; assist in the compilation of reports for surgical pathology; label and store gross tissue specimen.
* Photograph specimen samples as appropriate for use in instruction and documentation. Perform photo microscopy on cases considered for interdepartmental conferences or for teaching purposes; maintain complete and accurate records of all gross and microscopic photographs.
* Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
* Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement".
EDUCATION:
* Bachelor's degree required; Masters preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum three to five years' experience in a pathology histology laboratory setting.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
* Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists preferred
* 3-5 years grossing experience in a hospital setting accepted in lieu of ASCP Certification or Master's degree

* Escort patients to work, mealtime, outdoor/indoor recreation, smoke breaks (if applicable), and education activities and participate in their supervision and instruction as needed.
* Transport patients to and from medical appointments or other activities as directed. Maintain safety and security of the facility through close observation and monitoring of the patients, maintaining optimal physical proximity, remaining alert at all times, and using analytical forethought to anticipate potentially volatile or unsafe situations and proactively intervene. Ensure that all assigned patients have an individualized crisis plan developed.
* Act as a role model in using appropriate counseling skills by de-escalating aggression, using active listening skills, using appropriate tone and volume of voice, providing a high frequency and variety of positive reinforcements, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and promoting a positive peer culture. Maintain collaboration with Admission Department to provide clinical support for initial screenings. Provide appropriate back up for assessments when there is need.

The Certified Surgical First Assist will perform as the surgeon's assistant in the operating room, during evaluations, procedures, care management, and follow-up. Job Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent GED
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1 year customer service, provider service, contracting or claims experience in the healthcare industry.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Managed Care experience
