Throughout his career, Dr. Adam Husney has advocated for patients to take an active role in their own health and health care decisions. His patient-care experience coupled with his passion for strong patient-provider relationships and informed patients has made him a respected leader at Healthwise.

As chief executive officer, Adam demonstrates his commitment to the Healthwise mission of helping people make better health decisions, his broad knowledge of evidence-based medicine, and his strong leadership skills.

Adam works closely with Healthwise product managers and with clients from the provider and payer industries to create products that meet the workflow needs of clients. He also collaborates with Healthwise’s behavior-change and plain-language experts to build Healthwise products that can help more people make the health decisions that are right for them.

Adam received his bachelor of science in neuroscience from Brown University and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Michigan and is board-certified in family medicine. Adam practiced at the Hitchcock Clinic in Concord, New Hampshire, before moving to Idaho with his family in 1998 to work as an urgent-care physician.

After joining Healthwise in 2000 as an associate medical director, Adam later served as medical director and in 2016 was named chief medical officer (CMO).

Jim originally joined Healthwise’s board of directors in 1992. He later served as the company’s general counsel, chief strategic officer, chief financial officer, and head of international operations. Jim retired from his executive roles in 2016 and rejoined the board in 2017. He has served as chair since 2018.

Jim received his BA from Walla Walla University and his JD and MBA from Willamette University. He also completed the management development program at Harvard Business School.

In 1979, Jim joined Boise Cascade, providing commercial legal advice to their distribution and manufacturing managers. He went on to serve as the company’s securities and finance attorney as well as corporate secretary for Boise Cascade and Boise Cascade Office Products during the 1980s and early 1990s.

In 1996, Jim left the legal field and spent two years as Boise Cascade’s vice president for corporate planning and development before moving to Chicago as senior vice president and CFO for Boise Cascade’s Office Products Division. Jim helped reshape the future of the company in the United States with the acquisition of OfficeMax and internationally by repositioning operations in Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

For over 15 years Jim has been an MBA graduate adjunct professor teaching business plan feasibility and strategic management. He also provides executive mentoring for individuals, not-for-profits, and for-profit businesses.

Elizabeth Beem is a Chief Financial Officer at HEALTHWISE.

Katrina McDaniel is a Chief Human Resources Officer at HEALTHWISE and is based in Boise, Idaho. She has worked as Human Resources Manager at MPC Computers LLC. Katrina attended University of Southern California between 1989 and 1993.

Christy Calhoun is a Chief Content Officer at HEALTHWISE.
