Major Duties Responsibilities:
Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Role Specific Responsibilities
• Ensures the public and classroom restrooms are cleaned and sanitized

• Floor cleaning including vacuuming, sweeping and mopping for public spaces
• Operates various machines including buffers and floor scrubbers for cleaning floors

• Assist maintenance or warehouse staff occasionally as needed
• Works in harmony with all staff modeling Christ-like character and conduct
• Ability to occasionally flex schedule to accomplish special projects

This individual is educated in the area of proper nutrition and is able to manage the purchase and food within a budget. The role will also have to manage and incorporate donated food into the menu planning process and prepare special diets as necessary. This position is responsible to see that all parts of meal preparation and serving are done under the direction and as requested by supervisor. The Team Member is to assist, as requested, in the kitchen, with all aspects of food preparation, serving, clean up, restocking and ordering of supplies. Professional Requirements:

Position Details
The Extended Acute Care (EAC) program in York provides comprehensive, therapeutic support for individuals living with chronic mental health conditions. As part of our dedicated kitchen team, our Cooks play a vital role in maintaining a nurturing environment by preparing nutritious meals for 18-25 residents, depending on the meal service.
While formal culinary training is not required, experience cooking for large groups is essential. The ideal candidate will be dependable, flexible, and comfortable working in a team-oriented setting that supports the overall wellness and recovery of our residents.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and cook three meals and two snacks daily for residents.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
