RESPONSIBILITIES · Reports to the plant Quality Manager's team and collaborates closely with the SQE assigned to the same Vertiv facility to ensure the quality of parts and materials received at the Vertiv plant. · Assist in identifying and resolving issues with purchased parts; support Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) as necessary. · Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) for disposition of rejects identified by Receiving Inspection (RI) or production. · Support with supplier communications related to defects, RMA's, Deviations, sorting discrepant materials. · Perform basic analysis used in problem solving. · Escalate need for faster response from suppliers. · Support in the development of basic product, process, and procedures. · Support regarding Supplier Quality Issues with internal cross functional departments as required. · Support SQA for developing appropriate quality inspection plans for Incoming Inspection. · Simplify complex information and concisely prepare both verbal and written summaries. Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Job Qualifications: · 2 to 3 years of experience in supplier quality technician role, quality or related field. · Skilled and experienced with reading and understanding engineering drawings, specification, prints, dimensions, and tolerances. · Working knowledge and background of manufacturing processes. · Experienced with Quality Tools including 8-D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto, First Piece, PPAP, Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR) etc. · Must be PC proficient, with solid knowledge of Microsoft Office. · Effective communication skills, both verbal and written on English. · Open minded with people in other functions. · Perform all job duties in a safe manner and obey all safety policies and procedures. · Perform all job duties consistent with the Vertiv Behaviors and Code of Ethics. · Work independently Preferred Qualifications: · Knowledge of Electromechanical Assembly, Metal Fabrication/Machining, Manufacturing, etc. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS · Frequent Standing and walking.
