About the Role
The Solutions Architect works with the business stakeholders and the IT team to develop deep understanding of business operations, processes and capabilities to determine the best methods to overcome business problems. Their job is to work with business stakeholders to determine current concerns for the company and identify opportunities where technology solutions, process optimization and a connected strategy can help solve problems. They are also responsible for identifying future business needs and proactively working with the IT team to build the strategy and roadmaps to drive a connected ecosystem through future integrations and necessary changes. The Solutions Architect provides the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to support the development of technology solutions to ensure that solutions meet business needs and align with architectural governance and standards.
Responsibilities
Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determine corresponding enterprise solution designs and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes.
Lead evaluation, design and analysis for the implementation of the solution's architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities, value-streams, business requirements and enterprise standards.
Understand emerging technology trends and disruptions and their practical application to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
Monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements and work with IT to provide a 3-5 yr strategy with a roadmap to create the connected ecosystem.
Able to effectively communicate the operational needs, challenges and recommendations to achieve the connected ecosystem and how it will be approached across different audiences including technical, managerial, executives and vendors.
Generate technical requirements and communicate a matching solution architecture.
Collaborate with other architects on the principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns that ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.
Ensure that application processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted in line with corporate architecture standards, company and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related combination of education and technical experience.
Must have proven experience in a Solutions Architect role implementing large complex programs to achieve the company goals.
10+ years in at least two IT solution development disciplines, including technical or infrastructure architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or cloud development.
Good understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models.
Good understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.
Overall understanding of the manufacturing systems and processes such as: MES, PLM, ERP, WMS, F&O, Retail, etc.
Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies and roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities:
Partner with the business and IT team members to develop, maintain and execute a technology roadmap for merchandising systems to enable business strategies.
Coordinate with business process owners and product teams to align technology solutions with business objectives.
Provide first and second level operational support using ITIL practices, including incident and problem management for system stability, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Work with external vendors to drive incident resolution and long-term improvement opportunities.
Perform (merchandising) system configuration, set-ups, extensions, and potentially light software development activities.
Gain and maintain business operational and technical SME-level knowledge of merchandising systems and apply Agile principles to guide solution development.
Conduct complex business and systems analysis and work with IT teams to design technical solutions that improve quality and data integrity.
Elicit and document technical requirements and acceptance criteria; review and approve designs throughout development.
Produce documentation including technical designs, flow diagrams, user stories, use cases, and test plans to support development and UAT.
Collaborate within the product team to prioritize refine backlog items with an eye toward technical complexities, plan releases, and ensure timely delivery of business value.
Participate in quality assurance activities such as, but not limited to, test planning and defect management.
Support project delivery schedules through technical planning and resource estimation.
Conduct and participate in knowledge transfer sessions to team members to build cross-functional expertise.
Communicate plans, progress, and issues effectively to management and stakeholders.
What you will bring to the table:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
8+ years of experience in IT systems engineering or related roles, with proven ability to lead initiatives and influence cross-functional teams.
Strong experience with merchandising systems (Assortment Planning, Product Information Management, Inventory Management and Replenishment, etc.) from design through deployment.
Experience with implementing and/or supporting Intactix (JDA/Blue Yonder Space Planning), Blue Yonder Advanced Replenishment, Informatica Product Information Management, JD Edwards Item Management, and/or D365 Product Information Management/Item Master is a plus.
Proficiency in hybrid (cloud and on-premise systems) environments, and integration of enterprise systems.

Who are you?
You are an experienced functional Solution Architect who specializes in the Salesforce Revenue Cloud and loves to work collaboratively with clients to design and implement CPQ (Steelbrick) solutions. What you bring to the role:

You will serve as the design authority, leading design reviews, coordinating with engineering and field teams, and ensuring that the delivered system performs as intended from concept through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:
As the AV/DVLED Solution Architect, you will:
Provide expert pre-sales design support by assisting with system design, creating Bill of Materials and conducting peer reviews, and contributing to the authoring of the Scopes of Work (SOWs) to ensure technical accuracy and clarity.
Develop detailed AV and DVLED system designs, including schematics, signal-flow diagrams, rack elevations, and integration plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Collaborate with Solution Enablement and Project Management teams to prepare cost estimates, considering technical specifications, labor, materials, and logistics to ensure accurate and competitive proposals.
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design packages, submittals, and installation drawings to support fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
Act as a technical liaison among Solution Enablement Managers, Project Managers, engineers, consultants, and ecosystem partners to ensure design consistency and alignment through all phases of the project.
Engage directly with clients and channel partners to assess requirements, present solutions, and provide expert consultation throughout the project lifecycle.
Support pre-sales efforts in responding to RFPs and RFQs from specifiers, integrators, and end users, ensuring proposals are technically sound and strategically aligned.
Contribute to solution innovation, leveraging LG's portfolio of display technologies and integrated business solutions to address emerging customers and market opportunities.
Stay current with evolving technologies in DVLED, control systems, signal distribution, and AV-over-IP to continuously enhance solution quality and design efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in commercial AV system design and integration, including experience with large-scale, high-complexity projects exceeding $2 million.
Proven ability to interpret RFPs, develop compliant technical responses, and contribute to detailed bid proposals.
Demonstrated expertise in cost estimation, including equipment, labor, integration services, and project expenses.
Strong knowledge of AV industry standards and best practices, including signal distribution, control systems, networking, and power design.
Experience collaborating with consultants, architects, general contractors, and enterprise clients on large commercial or mission-critical environments (e.g., corporate campuses, sports venues, control rooms).
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, and SketchUp for system documentation and visualization.
Experience with Direct-View LED (DVLED) system design, integration, and controller configuration.
Familiarity with control systems such as Crestron, AMX, and Q-SYS.
Working knowledge of networking for AV, including AV-over-IP and enterprise network integration principles.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across sales, engineering, and project management functions.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
CTS-D certification or equivalent AV industry credentials preferred.
Ability to travel up to 50% within the U.S. (occasional international travel as required).

Valmont is seeking a highly motivated Senior Solutions Engineer to innovate and improve business performance within engineering environments. This role operates at a strategic level to plan, deliver, and support engineering platforms-primarily Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Design Automation (DA), and Engineering Analysis systems.
