Heartland RVs company history timeline

2003

Heartland RV was founded in December 2003 by a group of RV industry veterans led by Brian Brady, formerly President and CEO of Damon Corp.

In 2003, Bison began adding living quarter conversions to their production process resulting in the development of a complete line of equine trailers with living quarters.

2004

The company started production in March 2004 with a 5th wheel under the Landmark brand name which was introduced in December 2004 at the Louisville Show.

Heartland RV released its first recreational vehicle, the Landmark, in 2004.

2005

In 2005, a group of passionate Heartland RV customers came together at a rally and established the Heartland Owners Club.

2005 Goshen Coach THOR acquired Goshen Coach to round out its holdings in the small and mid-size bus industry.

2006

In 2006, the company opened up a new 111,000-square-foot facility that included an administration office and manufacturing plant.

2007

Catterton Partners, a Connecticut-based private equity firm that focuses on consumer business, made an equity investment in Heartland in February 2007.

2012

On May 29, 2012, Chris Hermon became the President of Heartland RV, replacing retired founding President, Brian Brady.

2012 Krystal Infinity and Federal Coach THOR made two strategic acquisitions in the luxury bus market when it acquired Krystal Infinity, LLC in September, and the bus operation assets of Federal Coach in December.

Brian Brady, who retired from the company in 2012, served as its owner and chairperson after a decade-long stint as the president and CEO of Damon Corporation.

2015

2015 Cruiser RV and DRV Luxury Suites In January 2015, THOR announced that its Heartland subsidiary acquired towable RV maker Cruiser RV (CRV) and luxury fifth wheel maker DRV Luxury Suites, both based in Howe, Indiana.

Heartland showed its dedication to its customers in 2015 by opening up an in-house service center complete with hookup sites near the service bays to give customers full access to amenities before getting their RVs serviced.

2016

In June 2016, THOR acquired Jayco, which includes strong subsidiaries such as Jayco, Starcraft RV, Highland Ridge and Entegra Coach, including brands like Jay Flight, the number-one selling travel trailer for the past 14 years.

In 2016, the company expanded into Idaho.

2017

The group, which was free to join as of November 2017, holds several events throughout the year all across the United States where fans of Heartland campers get together to celebrate the company.

2020

2020 Tiffin Group In December 2020, THOR acquired the Tiffin Group, a premium manufacturer of luxury recreational vehicles known for its excellent product quality, outstanding customer service and brand loyalty.

2021

2021 Airxcel In September 2021, THOR acquired Wichita, Kansas-based Airxcel, a leading supplier of OEM and aftermarket RV parts and accessories.
