We are looking for a hard-working, reliable and safety minded individual to join our team as a Travel Mechanic with Heavy Equipment mechanic experience. Our Travel Mechanic will travel to various company yards to support our Georgia Region to help repair stationary and mobile equipment. This will include electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagnostics, parts inventory and ordering, report writing, and scheduling Must have a good driving record. Must be very reliable and able to travel throughout Georgia region. This position will work outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Job Duties
Including, but not limited to:
* Drive company mechanic truck (manual and automatic) to various yards to support our Georgia region
* Must have a valid Drivers License
* Completes routine maintenance tasks (oil and filter changes, lubrication, brake, etc.) on all Heavy Equipment per manufacturer and SA Recycling recommendations.
* Interact with yard General Managers to schedule routine or emergency maintenance or repairs.
* Knowledge with ladders, platforms, catwalks and various tools
* Safe and proper use of assigned vehicles, equipment, and tools.
* Clean up work area at the end of shift
* Keep work areas neat and orderly
* Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions
* Organizing materials to have more effective use of space
* Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner
* Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed
* Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members.
Qualifications
* Employees in this position prior to April 2014 are presumed to be qualified and are "grandfathered" into their positions.
* Must pass a medical physical and drug test
* Must pass a background check
* Attendance is a must
* Vocational/Technical degree highly desired.
* Hydraulic, electrical, and diesel maintenance experience highly desired.
* Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus
* Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands with common sense
* Construction and Welding knowledge a plus
* Driving a standard size work truck
