Essential functions include:
Loading railcars with product (ethanol, biodiesel, crude oil and liquid petroleum products) using proprietary transload carts.
Learn, maintain, and operate all processes associated with the railcar transload operations including maintenance, paperwork, and scheduling.
Equipmentoperations, OSHA, HAZWOPER and DOT training.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks as directed.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience in truck loading and unloading, rail tank car and tanker truck loading very helpful.
DOT certification is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook, and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, ability to multi-task, ability to work well in a team environment.
Ability to work in a railyard environment with heights and temperatures ranging from 40° to +100° degrees.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
This position is largely self-directed and requires the understanding of company policy, procedures, and values.

This position operates in a rail yard environment. In the railcar surroundings, the trans-loader may be exposed to noise, heat, and other elements while performing the duties of this position.
The team member will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, internal and external temperature/weather conditions, and exposed to petroleum and other related products.
Specific Physical Requirements include:
Climbing several flights of stairs and ladders.
Opening valves.
Occasionally bending, twisting, and turning while lifting weights of less than fifty (50) pounds.
Data entry while seated for greater than one-half (1/2) hour.
Walking of two (2) or more miles per day.
Working at heights, and at temperatures from 40° to +105° degrees.
Standing for extended periods of time
Elevated work is required.

About this Role
FiberTel is looking for a Travel Utility Excavator/EquipmentOperator for our Portland location. This is a travel position with job sites in OR, WA, and ID.
The Travel Utility Excavator/EquipmentOperator will be responsible for safely and skillfully operating and maintaining construction equipment (cable plows, backhoe, mini excavator, skid steer, rock saw, and other utility construction equipment). This position may also help with loading and unloading of equipment and materials using heavy equipment as well as any other tasks assigned by the foreman. A Class A CDL is required for this position.
Pay: $25-36/hr, DOE. Daily Per Diem + travel accommodations.
What You'll Do
Position Responsibilities:
Operate all heavy machinery in a safe manner
Dig trenches, back-fill excavations, and compact & level earth to grade specifications
Transport materials and equipment
Load & unload equipment and material as needed
Follow all on-site safety procedures
Ensure contents & equipment are properly secured during transportation
Comply with all DOT regulations and rules
Perform daily vehicle pre-trip inspections and JHA
What You'll Bring
Position Qualifications:
Possess a valid CDL class A
Experience operating heavy equipment and machinery
Clean driving record (no more than 2 tickets in the last 5 years)
Strong focus on quality and safety
Excellent time management skills

Working Conditions:
This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including; extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. The outside work environment will vary throughout the day including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings, and/or rural settings. This position may occasionally be exposed to natural gas and to the risk of electrical shock. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.
Physical Requirements:
The employee will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours at a time), tolerate work in extreme weather conditions, speak and hear worksite safety instructions, withstand prolonged and repeated: lifting, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching and feeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee will need to be able to regularly lift 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Performs a safety and equipment check before each use of the loader
Receives load tickets from haulers, ensures accuracy, signs, accumulate until the end of the day and forwards the tickets in a neat and clean appearance to the office personnel for inventory entry
Pumps diesel fuel into the loader by an electrical pump and ensures all safety practices are used to prevent injury
Monitors the stock piles for excessive heat, turns stockpiles and ensures the proper amount of water is used to prepare the stockpile for production use
Meets quality and quantity standards- Performs the proper operation and minor maintenance of equipment- Accurately verifies quantity of material.
