    We're looking for a skilled Equipment Operator who takes pride in keeping our roads, sidewalks, and public spaces clean and safe. In this role, you'll operate sweepers, trucks, mowers, and other equipment to support daily roadway upkeep across the County. You'll help keep streets clear, respond to debris or accident clean-ups, and work with crews to maintain the right-of-way. You'll play an important part in keeping our community moving, working closely with other operators, crew leaders, and the public to make sure each job is done safely, correctly, and on schedule. Duties and Responsibilities What You Will Do * Keep our roads clean and safe. You will drive a motorized street sweeper and other equipment to clean streets, gutters, sidewalks, and bike paths. * Help when accidents happen. You will respond to roadway incidents and help remove debris or hazardous materials. * Use a variety of tools and machines. This includes pickup trucks with trailers, zero-turn mowers, and other DOT equipment. * Look for problems and report them. If you see pavement damage, large debris, or anything unsafe, you'll let the team know. * Remove obstacles. Clear trash, dirt, small plants, and other items blocking the right-of-way. * Apply herbicides as directed to keep areas clean and safe. * Take care of your equipment. Do routine checks and simple maintenance on the tools and machines you use. * Work alone or with a crew. You may help other teams or departments from time to time. * Set up safe work zones. You'll use traffic rules to keep workers and drivers safe. * Step up when needed. You may fill in for the Lead Operator by recording daily work, guiding coworkers, and reporting to the Project Manager. Requirements Qualifications & Requirements: Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Motor Grader Operator in highway, roads, and residential development projects. Skills: Proficient in motor grader operations and maintenance. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints. Familiar with grading techniques, subgrade shaping, and fine grading for horizontal surfaces. Experience with automatic grade control systems. Ability to make decisions based on verifiable standards. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with supervisors, crew members, and other stakeholders. Driver's License: Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and work in a variety of positions for extended periods. Capable of lifting more than 20 pounds and operating heavy equipment safely. Frequently walking on uneven surfaces in various weather conditions. Ability to work in physically demanding environments for extended periods. Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime hours and flexible schedules as needed to meet project deadlines. Work Environment: Outdoor Work: The position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions (hot, humid, rainy, etc.). Noise & Dust Exposure: The work environment involves exposure to high noise levels, grease, dust, and other substances commonly found on construction sites. Heavy Equipment: Regular exposure to heavy machinery and moving equipment on-site. Hazardous Conditions: Occasional exposure to common construction substances such as gasoline, diesel fuel, and form oil.
