The Clark County Department of Real Property Management is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Heavy Equipment Operator position. As a member of the team, you will operate heavy construction equipment and perform minor maintenance on such equipment in the performance of skilled field construction, maintenance and repair activities. The candidate may be tasked with lead responsibilities for a crew on a project or day-to-day basis.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience: Equivalent to graduation from high school AND three (3) years of full-time experience in the operation of a variety of construction equipment. Experience in a department CDL position may be substituted on a year for year basis

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
* Performs an operational and safety check of the equipment before use; checks fuel and fluid levels, air pressures, hydraulic systems and lubrication points; performs lubrication of essential parts.
* Performs minor adjustments and preventive maintenance and reports the need for major maintenance or repair.

Responsible for the production of high quality sputtered thin film metals, metal-oxides, and metal nitrides on PET films as part of a vacuum coating roll-to-roll operation.
The Sputter Coater Operator will operate the roll to roll vacuum sputter machine to coat PET and other substrates with metals, oxides, and nitrides. They will be responsible for machine change overs including changing raw material, delivering finished goods, changing machine configurations, and assisting with maintenance. The candidate will be expected to use various handtools and power tools during machine changeover and general preventative maintenance of the machine. A successful candidate will be someone who is able to not only follow instructions but also react to process changes which are not explicitly covered based on good vacuum processing practices.
JOB DUTIES:
Provide operational control of the sputtering / thin film deposition process to ensure film specifications are met and a quality product is produced. Adjust power levels, monitor gas supply inputs, film line speeds, monitor Plasma Emission Monitor (PEM) process feedback and take appropriate action to control the process. Document process conditions and track the production runs. Document raw material usage levels and assist in development of cost models for products.
