Responsibilities
Operates back-hoe, mini-excavator, skid steers, and/or other excavation machinery equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets to excavate and load loose materials on residential and commercial job sites.
Load, unload and secure equipment on transport trailers according to guidelines.
Follow OSHA and Roto-Rooter safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with a crew to efficiently complete excavation work on various projects.
Interact with customers as needed, providing excellent customer service and addressing their requirements professionally.
Maintain excavation equipment and gather all necessary equipment from the branch and/or rental companies to ensure smooth operations during excavation tasks.
Perform excavation work in confined spaces and open trenches, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
Locate and arrive at job sites promptly, ensuring safe driving and operation of service vehicles between locations.
Requirements
Essential requirement: Construction experience in both residential and commercial projects.
Mandatory requirement: Possession of a current CDL Class A license for this position.
Trenchless water, sewer & gas experience is a plus.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as required for the role.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The Loader Operator operates straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas.
**WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH:**
+ Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader. Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front-end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material. Moves levers to raise and tilt
+ bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.
+ Perform assignments outlined by supervisors and standard procedures are followed in the performance of duties. Work is inspected periodically for safety and economy in operation. Performs routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
+ Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers serviced.
+ Perform Pre-Shift Inspections: Inspect batch plant to ensure a smooth start up for the day
+ On a daily basis inspect gates to assure proper functionality, all drive belts and conveyor belts, all trough and return rollers.
+ Responsible for batch plant clean up and Properly store and secure all tools and equipment after use.
+ Daily inspection of all of the Water/Boiler System and air systems. Follow proper start up and shutdown procedures.
+ On a weekly basis maintain cleanliness of site by vacuuming batch plant office floor, emptying all trash cans in office, and cleaning bathrooms in plant office.
+ Ensures on a weekly basis that all areas of the plant are greased and equipped to accept grease.
+ Inspect all bearings on the batch plant.
+ On a monthly basis, Inspect Dust Collector to ensure it is in proper operating condition.
+ On a quarterly basis check oil in all gear boxes and check all drive belts associated with the gear box.
+ Partake in annual oil change and update all drive belts associated with the gear box.
**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**
+ 12 months of loader operator experience with 980M/982M loaders
+ Prior work experience preferred working in or around heavy equipment, construction, or paving.
+ Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge and skills.
+ Proven safety record.
+ Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
+ High school \ GED
+ Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.

Education and Experience

The Loader Operator I is responsible for operating heavy equipment and trucks, setting up equipment for auction in yards and helping customers during and after auctions.
Responsibilities
Responsible for operating all types of heavy equipment and trucks.
Accountable for helping to set up equipment in the yard for auctions.
Help customers load their equipment purchases, and answer their questions related to the yard.
Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience operating heavy machinery.
Able to operate a large 36,000 lbs forklift is an asset.
Good spoken and written English is required.
Good computer skills and able to learn new programs quickly.
A track-record of working safely, and helping others work safely, too.
You must be able to relate well with customers and team members.
You like to work in a team, helping out wherever needed; but you can also self-start and work on your own.
Organized, and can handle lots of multiple tasks at once.
A high level of attention to detail.

Heavy Equipment Operator
Heavy equipment operator job in Phoenix, AZ
Responsible for operating and maintaining various heavy equipment, including but not limited to trench excavators, backhoes, and loaders in a safe expeditious manner in accordance with OSHA safe practices.
Responsibilities
Operate a variety of heavy equipment for underground utility projects.
Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects.
Locate underground services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning work.
Understand proper backfill requirements.
Perform safe and clean trench excavation and backfill.
Set and pull shield shoring and trench boxes in accordance with OSHA safe practices.
Safely change buckets and attachments in a timely manner
Able to calculate and set proper grades and elevations.
Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met.
Prepare and maintain equipment for safe daily operations (i.e. fuel, grease, etc.)
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Adhere to B&F Code of Conduct
Required Skills & Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years' experience in wet or dry utility heavy equipment operator experience
Extensive knowledge and ability to install sewer, water, storm drain, and dry utility conduit.
Experience in underground utilities or heavy civil construction.
Understanding of construction safety and OSHA requirements
Ability to follow traffic laws, ordinances, and rules applicable to heavy equipment operation.
Good listening and comprehension skills, follows instructions, takes responsibility for own actions.
Establish and maintain effective work relationships.
Able to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, twist, climb, and lift 50 pounds.
Ability to work outside.
Reliable transportation
Ability to understand Arizona's blue stake laws and colors coding.
