Performs pre-trip inspections; monitors and reports on the status of vehicle repairs and safety-related issues, keeps equipment clean Assists with setting up work sites and ensuring proper traffic and safety procedures have been followed Responds to emergency calls for service on a call-out basis; works various hours, including nights and weekends as deemed necessary by manager/supervisor to meet deadlines and conform with changing priorities Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies. Other duties as assigned Duties and Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of continuous construction project experience operating utility construction equipment High School diploma or equivalent required Must be at least 21, have a clean driving record. A Class-A CDL is preferred. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Colorado and Nebraska regions, which will include overnight stays in project areas. Solid work history of success with little or no utility damage on projects Certifications and/or extensive experience in operating hand and power tools, trenchers Ability to expose and identify utilities after they have been located Perform daily maintenance checks on machines Read communications prints for placing conduit or cables underground Communicate effectively with co-workers, subcontractors and clients Ability to take direction and work well with others Ability to lift materials that weigh as much as 100 pounds Must have the ability to pass pre-employment checks, which include a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and substance screening, following federal law.
