Description Salary based on the depth of construction experience - Salary Range - $55,000 to $75,000 (Compensation Range based on Overtime and Bonus Structure) -Summary/Objective- Excavator Operator -Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience operating excavators (operating weight 20,000 lbs. or more) on pipeline construction projects. Some manual labor may be required. Craven Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach Diesel and Heavy Equipment classes in the Workforce Development Department. Openings for these positions may not exist at the present time; however upon review of your qualifications, you may be contacted directly by the department on an as needed basis. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Plan, direct, and participate in the instruction for the Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology program; develop supplemental materials and tests; maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance. Knowledge in the operations of and the rebuild of diesel engines is a must. Develop and draft materials necessary for instruction with the direction and approval of the Program Coordinator. Position requires flexible working hours; day, evening and possibly weekends. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent. Preferred: Diesel Equipment Certification or commensurate experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate well and instruct with expertise a diverse population. Ability to monitor, motivate and prepare students for entry into the work force upon successful completion of course. Ability to develop vocational education curriculum; accurately keep records and submit required documentation. The applicant should also possess a strong working knowledge of Diesel Systems to include transmissions, clutch assemblies, brakes, rear ends and diagnostic trouble shooting.
