Physical Requirements: Climbing: Must have the physical capability to safely climb into and out of equipment that is greater than 10 feet off the ground on uneven terrain multiple times daily. Heights: Ability to climb and work safely at heights exceeding 10 feet. Balance: Including standing and walking on extremely slick and uneven surfaces while carrying. Vision: 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions. Hearing: Corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions. Awkward positions: Getting to and from both sitting and kneeling on the ground. Heavy lifting: Awkward parts and equipment up to 50 lbs. from floor to shoulders, and up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Conditions: Work is performed outdoors in a heavy civil construction environment with exposure to uneven, rocky terrain, dust, dirt, and varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain. Work Environment: This position is predominantly outdoors in various weather conditions. The Heavy Equipment Operator with CDL must be prepared for changing environmental conditions and able to adjust to the demands of an active construction site. Physical stamina is required, as the role involves standing, climbing, and bending for extended periods. Repeatedly climbing into and out of large heavy equipment that is more than 10 feet off the ground is an essential part of the job. Exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery in operation.
