The successful candidate for this position will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. The Equipment Operator performs routine equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and minor repairs while adhering to established safety standards and procedures. This position description is intended to provide a general overview of the nature and level of work performed and is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, or skills required. Responsibilities may vary, and additional duties may be assigned as operational needs change. The position requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential and other important duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Equipment Operation: Operate a variety of light and heavy equipment, including trucks, backhoes, excavator (track hoe), bulldozers, dump trucks, front-end loaders, skid steer loaders, rollers, air compressors, hydro- and jackhammers, concrete saws, mud-jacks, flush vacs, and other similar machinery for maintenance, construction, and repair work. Technical Skills: * Knowledge of utility depths and placements; general knowledge of construction practices. * Able to read blueprints/underground utility plans and interpret work assignments. Physical Requirements / Aptitude: * Able to work in trenches, manholes, tunnels and confined spaces and in work settings with moderate to loud noise levels. * Able to move in different positions - crouching, kneeling, reaching, bending and lifting 75 lbs., unassisted.
