Job Description The Solid Waste Equipment Operator operates, monitors and maintains a variety of equipment, buildings, and systems which support the operation of the landfill. Essential Job Functions: Performs the daily operation of the Solid Waste Facility, including the operation of landfill gas and leachate collection systems, operation of light and heavy equipment. Operates surveying equipment to maintain grades and elevations. Documents and reports inspection, cleaning and maintenance of equipment. Record keeping for all facility operations, including regulatory compliance data, maintenance logs, inspection forms, mileage/hour records, etc. Operational duties including housekeeping, modifications and maintenance of the inactive areas of the landfill. Performs operation control test and inspects materials entering the Solid Waste Facility. Performs weighmaster duties at truck scale.
