Validus Energy is seeking a Lease Operator who is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of assigned oil and gas processing equipment, including the identification of problems or potential problems, documentation and production reporting. Responsible for daily upkeep and maintenance of oil wells. Operates oil production and injection equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures. Reports and interprets metrics such as volume and pressure of gas and oil within the well. Reports to Production Foreman.
Responsibilities
Monitor, maintain and report on the production operations of wells and production facilities.
Monitor and maintain equipment such as pressurized vessels, compressor, generators, artificial lifts, computers, vehicles and automation equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Operate oil and gas wells, as well as water disposal facilities.
Enter daily production data into the field data capturing system.
Perform minor repairs on surface equipment
Monitor gauges and tests to ensure accuracy of oil and water run tickets.
Work with Production Foreman and EHS Manager to maintain company policies and regulatory, environmental and safety compliance.
Be the face of the company in the communities in which we operate and always work to be a good neighbor with a high level of integrity.
Perform other related responsibilities as required or assigned.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in the oil and gas industry required, minimum of 3 years Lease Operator experience preferred. Anadarko Basin experience, preferred. WellView/ProdView experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to tolerate prolonged shifts involving standing, climbing, lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying weights of up to 50 lbs.
Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials and chemicals, including H2S, as well as prolonged exposure to outdoor work conditions, including extreme cold, hot and/or adverse weather conditions, and loud machinery, and may require appropriate personal protective equipment.
Must possess a current, valid driver's license and the ability to meet and maintain all eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle.
Subject to call-outs to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays.
The qualified candidate must be authorized to work in the United States and not require company sponsorship.

POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Viewed as an advanced Lease Operator, capable of handling most problems except those requiring engineering assistance. Special focus to be placed on:
Make routine checks on all well sites according to schedule. Monitor production equipment including but not limited to compressors, pumpjacks, plunger lift, dehydrators, meters, separators, and safety devices; perform light maintenance on equipment as necessary to ensure all equipment is well maintained and operating safely. Inspect lease sites to ensure they are clean and free of debris and overgrown vegetation.

Manage daily fluid production; gauge and record oil and water tank levels.

Communicate regularly with production foreman on daily plans and issues; participate in periodic well reviews and safety meetings.

Check for and address spills, fluid leaks, and trip hazards.
Participate in on-call rotation schedule which includes some nights and weekends.
Knowledge of company computer software associated with electronic measurement data collection, such as Cygnet, FDC and FlowCal.
Leads optimization of wells in their area with little or no supervision
Assist foremen with training new hires and other junior employees, assist with chart reviews, conduct employee ride-alongs, analyze and troubleshoot production related issues and work with employees and foremen to resolve.
Demonstrates competency in operating multiple types of artificial lift such as plunger lift, gas lift, conventional and submersible pumps, etc.

Operators are expected to inspect, clean, lubricate and refill equipment daily or as needed. In addition to the standard operating duties, operator may at times be asked to complete laborer duties listed above. Operators are expected to be able to endure physical demands such as bend, stoop, squat, or stand for a significant period of time, lift at least fifty pounds, climb a ladder, and withstand outside temperature changes.
Knowledge of GPS machinery is a plus but not required.
