A Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible We are seeking an experienced Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic to provide on-site diagnostic, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair services for U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) ground equipment. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to safety and security. As part of a mobile support team, this position also requires travel to support operations across multiple locations.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Armorer: $30-DOE/hour

Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic Responsibilities Include:
Perform field-level maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on various USMC tactical ground equipment, including but not limited to:
Tanks and tracked vehicles
Wheeled tactical vehicles
Artillery and mortar systems
Engineering and construction equipment
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system malfunctions.
Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs in accordance with technical manuals and military standards.
Replace and adjust major systems and components, such as transmissions, engines, braking systems, and drivetrains.
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with supply and logistics teams to coordinate parts and equipment deliveries.
Travel as part of a mobile maintenance team to various field locations and military installations.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of military, , or equivalent civilian mechanic school and/or program preferred.
Travel required to support operational and programmatic needs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent critical thinking and multitasking abilities.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and other databases for tracking.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Valid Driver's License required.
Willingness to travel to other locations as needed.
Flexibility with schedule adjustments to support directives.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintaining and repairing military heavy equipment.
Proven expertise with USMC ground combat and tactical support systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and use diagnostic tools.
Strong understanding of military maintenance procedures and standards (e.g., TM/LO/PMCS).
Physically capable of lifting heavy parts, working in outdoor conditions, and operating support equipment.
Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance.
Successfully pass a federal background check and drug screen.
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

POSITION SCOPE
The Heavy EquipmentOperator position is designated as safety sensitive, emphasizing the importance of adhering to safety protocols at all times. The operator must be proficient in operating machinery such as D8-D9 dozers and 345-352 excavators in accordance with project specifications to ensure efficient and compliant operations. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for the daily servicing and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained throughout the project duration.

PRIMARY DUTIES
