HEAVY CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT OPERATOR Heavy Construction Equipment Operator I Facilities Services Salary Range: $3,736 - $$5,232/Monthly (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range $4,044- $4,833/Monthly) Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 300 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; non-exempt classification. Essential Functions: Heavy Construction Equipment Operators operate very heavy trucks, tractor-trucks and heavy construction equipment which can be operated only by a highly skilled operator. Arcosa Lightweight is a leading producer and distributor in the Western and Southwestern U.S. of lightweight and natural aggregates, including expanded shale and clay, crushed stone, sand and gravel, asphalt rock, and other products. What You'll Do: • Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations • Operate at least 2 pieces of mobile equipment in quarry or production, such as haul truck, farm tractor, water truck, rubber tier backhoe, front end loader, lift truck, crane, track mobile, driller/auger, excavator • Move materials and products between work stations and/or receiving and storage locations • Perform dispatch duties • Keep truck scale and load out areas clean • Ensure proper identification of parts and materials • Provide updates to crusher operator on current bin status and material quality • Cross-train on other positions in plant as necessary • Attend safety committees or initiatives as required • Perform other duties as assigned What You'll Need: • The ability to frequently stand, stoop, bend, climb stairs, and reach around equipment to make adjustments and repairs • Ability to sit and work for up to 12 hours per day, and lift weights up to 60 pounds • Minimum of 1 year equipment operating experience, preferred • Manual dexterity to use small hand tools and power tools for minor repairs and adjustments • The ability to work in a varied outdoor environment (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy) • Willingness and ability to work some weekends and evenings Compensation: • $21.70 - $23.04 / hour • Production bonus eligible Benefits: Arcosa is proud to offer competitive benefits and programs to help you and your family meet your healthcare and retirement planning needs. Operates various types of solid waste collection trucks, including front loader, side loader, rear loader, bin handling unit, forklift, bin delivery truck-and-trailer, and automated unit, on an assigned route; picks up and loads refuse and recyclable materials into the truck; operates mechanism for loading, compressing, and dumping refuse and recyclable materials; drives to designated area to deliver refuse and recyclable materials; safely operates the solid waste collection truck; safely operates the packing and dumping apparatus; assures that solid waste collection truck is properly fueled, equipped, lubricated, and serviced; washes interior and exterior of solid waste collection truck; reports needed repairs immediately; answers citizen complaints; responds to inquiries from the business community regarding potential service; maintains required written records, including documenting field issues in writing; may supervise solid waste field crews; may have the opportunity to participate in related cross-training opportunities. Employment Standards: Knowledge of traffic laws involved in equipment operations; safe operations of and safety precautions necessary in operation of equipment, including various types of solid waste collection trucks. Skill in physical stamina to engage in heavy manual type of work. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; understand and carry out written and oral instructions; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, and the public. License & Certificates: A valid California Class "B" driver's license or equivalent without air brake restriction at time of appointment. None.
