Equipment Operators will work on-site at project locations which typically include abandoned warehouses, buildings, highways, railyards or other outdoor areas. The work environment is usually dirty, dusty, and noisy, containing hazardous or potentially hazardous substances and/or materials and is subject to inclement or extreme weather conditions. Work includes handling hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment. The applicant must be available for emergency response work after-hours and on weekends. Travel is required. Key Responsibilities Operate various types of heavy equipment including excavators/dozers/backhoes/loaders/skid loaders/rough terrain forklifts Follow applicable safety rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and site specific safety plans when performing cleanup activities and donning protective gear. Operate routinely used tools and equipment Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment Load and unload equipment from vehicles, and trailers Hazardous Waste Operations Complete required paperwork, forms and records as required Other projects and duties as assigned. Experience and Qualifications Must have a Class "A/B" CDL Construction industry experience, hazardous waste experience and certification (i.e. OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER), Class "A/B" CDL, heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience required. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of environmental project experience Excellent driving history Required Education: High School or Equivalent Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments.
