The Heavy Equipment Operator works as part of the field team to support the successful completion of demolition projects on time and within budget. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Equipment Operation Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and skid steers to perform demolition and earthmoving tasks. Use attachments such as hydraulic hammers, buckets, grapples, and shears to dismantle structures and handle debris. Load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently within job sites. Safety and Compliance Follow all safety protocols, site rules, and OSHA regulations during equipment operation. Conduct pre-operational checks and inspections of equipment to ensure it is in safe working condition. Identify and report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, and safety hazards to the supervisor promptly. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on site. Project Execution Execute demolition plans according to specifications, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks. Collaborate with site supervisors, project managers, and team members to achieve project goals. Maintain a clean and organized job site by managing debris and assisting with cleanup as needed. Equipment Maintenance Perform basic maintenance tasks such as greasing, fueling, and cleaning equipment. Monitor equipment performance and assist mechanics with more extensive repairs when required. Keep accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and inspections. Team Collaboration Communicate effectively with site supervisors and other team members to ensure smooth workflow. Assist with additional tasks on-site, such as hand labor, as directed by the supervisor. Adhere to company policies and maintain a professional attitude while working with clients and team members.
