Operators are responsible for effectively and safely operating and performing daily maintenance on heavy
equipment. This may include (but is not limited to) cranes, bucket trucks, diggers, trenchers, skid steers, and

This position will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all types of equipment including crushing/aggregate equipment, heavy construction/paving equipment, highway trucks and trailers, shop equipment, and all support equipment. This position also monitors and maintains fluid levels, performs preventive maintenance, and analyzes and identifies sources of mechanical failures, repairs, and overhauls. Time will be spent working indoors and, in the field, depending on work demand.
Responsibilities:
Dismantle equipment as necessary to correct unit failure, assemble, and adjust, i.e., overhaul engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, etc.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using appropriate tools and equipment for the task, and proper personal protective equipment.
Demonstrate and promote safety and proper housekeeping on all job sites and in the shop.
Work independently, and with others as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain proper shop paperwork.
Take direction and accomplish duties outlined by your supervisor and ask questions when you do not understand the task.
Be dependable to your team: You work as a team and progress as a team.
Qualifications:
Successfully pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and physical.
Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record that will meet insurability requirements to drive company equipment. Having a Class A or Class B CDL is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate that can obtain a CDL.
A minimum of 1 year of heavy equipment, truck, and/or vehicle diagnosis and repair or recent diesel program graduate.
Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
Wear and maintain personal protective equipment as directed by the supervisor.
Must have keen troubleshooting skills, a positive, professional attitude, and a strong work ethic.
Ability to work overtime as required, including some weekends.
Required Tools:
Must have own mechanic's tools to work on heavy equipment.

Able to physically lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) frequently throughout the work shift with or without assistance.
