A Loader Operator operates Industrial Loader (heavy equipment, not forklift) to load end dump trailer and plant hoppers with material, and perform general maintenance (grease, check oil) on equipment. Wear appropriate site specific personal protective equipment (PPE), as required. Understand and adhere to all company operating procedures and company safety policies. Our construction equipment group is seeking a full-time resident heavy equipment Shop service diesel technician / mechanic with the classification of Shop Technician to service our general product lines with a focus on power systems, but will also work on all makes/models for our product portfolio. This position will report to the South Elgin, IL branch. This is a union position and will be part of Operating Engineers Local 701. A Shop Technician must be familiar with and able to diagnose and repair any systems problem that occurs for the majority (greater than 50%) of equipment the Company sells. A Shop Technician is qualified to successfully, efficiently, and accurately perform the cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, removal, installation with the help of proper manuals, report writing and the disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, reconditioning, ordering the correct parts, measuring, adjusting, diagnosing, testing, troubleshooting and equipment failure analysis of their assigned Service department or specialized area, with minimal technical assistance.
