The position also requires intermediate welding and fabrication work as needed. Education and Experience A degree/diploma from an accredited Heavy Equipment and/or Diesel Technician program. Or 5+ years of equivalent experience working with heavy/medium duty diesel heavy equipment validated through the Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) Foundation Technical Pre-Assessment with a passing overall score of =>65%. And must obtain AED Industry Certified Technician assessment with a passing overall score of =>70% within 1 year of hire date. ASE Certifications T4 - Brakes, T5 - Suspensions & Steering, T6 - Electrical/Electronic Systems, and T8 - Preventative Maintenance Inspections is required within 1 year of hire date. 5+ years intermediate skills in cutting and welding is required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Schedule all work with Technician Supervisor to make the most efficient use of travel time and minimize multiple trips to one location * Must have the ability to work independently & with fellow LCI coworkers/employees * Operate and inspect all construction equipment, support equipment and components to determine needed repairs * Discuss equipment problems with the supervisor and/or others as needed * Repair, replace, calibrate, adjust and/or rebuild components * Test repaired equipment for proper operation * Inspect, add and/or change fluids and lubricants; check and replace worn parts and perform other routine service and maintenance * All required welding and fabrication work * Read equipment manuals, service bulletins and other resources; attend training sessions * Maintain and update knowledge of equipment to be serviced * Assist with ordering parts, materials and supplies needed for repair and maintenance * Record work performed, time, and materials used for each job; complete timecards and maintain related work logs and records * Operate a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, motor vehicles and heavy equipment and perform related duties as assigned by the Equipment Manager * Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environment Skills, Qualifications and Requirements of the Position * Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times. * Demonstrated commitment to safety, ethics, and integrity. * Possess strong communication skills and the ability to keep all necessary parties aware of objectives, changes, updates, etc. * Must have a positive can-do attitude, a team player who works well with others, a problem solver, and a superior work ethic. * Ability to develop positive professional working relationships across all levels of the Company and outside contacts. * Must be able to communicate technical aspects of the job effectively. * Possesses strong organizational skills to handle a variety of tasks. * Provide basic tool set. * Ability to use a wide variety of hand and power tools * Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes * Understand and adhere to all safety regulations and personal protective equipment requirements * Has ability in using a high degree of independent judgement Company Benefits At Landwehr Construction, we are committed to providing a competitive and comprehensive benefits package to support our employees and their families.
