Key Responsibilities:
Strictly follow all company and OSHA safety procedures at all times
Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings
Operate various types of equipment to include cranes, loaders, skid steers, forklifts and sweepers, heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the scrap yard
Perform daily equipment inspections and promptly report any defects, malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds as required
Load and move scrap materials including feeding the shredder conveyor, pushing shred piles and loading trucks and railcars.
Assist with general yard labor and support tasks including sweeping, shoveling, and equipment and area cleanup throughout the yard.
Cross train in other roles and assist co-workers as needed to support overall operations
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
What We're Looking For:
Minimum of 2 years previous experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial, construction, or recycling setting
Flexible to work overtime, weekends, holidays in an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions.
Familiarity with safety standards and mechanical troubleshooting
Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus)
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.

Day to Day
Actively promote and willingly support a safety conscious culture. Follow all safety regulations and company policies.
Responsible for daily equipment greasing, morning “walk arounds” and fluid checks. Complete daily maintenance checklist to ensure your equipment is properly maintained, and to ensure the proper preservation of equipment maintenance records.
Adjust hand wheels and depress pedals to control attachments such as blades, buckets, scrapers, and swing brooms. Start engines, move throttles, switches and levers, and depresses pedals to operate machines such as bulldozers, excavators, wheel loaders, graders and haul trucks.
Other duties as assigned as assigned by your Foreman or Superintendent
