Work duties shall include maintenance. The work program is based on Quality while skillfully and safely operating the following (but not limited to) heavy equipment: motor grades, bulldozers of various sizes, rubber tired front end loaders, scrapers, heavy equipment transport (haul truck), pneumatic or steel roller, backhoes, tractors, 10-12 C.Y. Dump Truck, snow plows and sander trucks. Equipment operator shall perform all preventative maintenance on equipment being operated and report all deficiencies to the CCT DOT manager, Foreman, or Lead Equipment Operator. Physical activities and projects could include, but are not limited to: clearing of right of ways with chainsaws, culvert clearing, crack sealing, dura patching, bridge sign/delineator installation Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Training: Requires a High School diploma and 5 years of work experience which involves the operation of heavy equipment and experience driving commercial vehicles. Requires a valid Class A CDL, State Driver's License and be eligible for the Tribes' vehicle insurance. Must qualify for a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires working experience which involves the operation of heavy equipment. Requires working knowledge of heavy equipment routine maintenance procedures. Requires working knowledge & ability to perform general maintenance/repairs to assigned equipment. Requires knowledge of hazards & safety precautions applicable to the operation on heavy equipment. Requires the ability to execute both oral & written instructions. Requires the knowledge of Reservation Districts and area roads. Required to operate various pieces of heavy equipment in adverse weather conditions, after dark for the purpose of removing snow from roadways and during emergency repairs. Frequently exposed to moderate to extreme heat and cold weather. Requirements: moderate to heavy lifting with a minimum of seventy-five pounds, as equipment utilized may be heavy and moderate to heavy physical effort in the operation of heavy equipment and the repair and maintenance of the equipment, physical activities and projects. Ability to report to duty station within 30 minutes as needed Ability to work flexible hours, which may include weekends, holidays and extended hours beyond a regular 40 hr week. Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. Starting Rate: $20.00/hr DOE General Responsibilities Operate snow removal equipment, including but not limited to: front-end loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, and skid steers. Clear and maintain parking lots, access roads, and staging areas to ensure safe and accessible conditions for guests and staff. Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs or safety concerns. Assist with hauling and relocating snow as needed. Communicate effectively with dispatch, base area operations, and other departments for coordinated snow management. This position will also report to the Heavy Equipment Manager, and the Mountain Manager(s) each day along with taking direction from the lead operator of the day. Must be 18 years of age or older. Starting Rate: $20.00/hr DOE General Responsibilities Operate snow removal equipment, including but not limited to: front-end loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, and skid steers. Clear and maintain parking lots, access roads, and staging areas to ensure safe and accessible conditions for guests and staff. Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs or safety concerns. Assist with hauling and relocating snow as needed. Communicate effectively with dispatch, base area operations, and other departments for coordinated snow management.
