Job Description

Hedge Fund Accounting - Entry Level

Status: Entry-Level

Locations: Hybrid | Windsor, CT; Boston, MA; Evansville, IN; Dublin, OH; Union, NJ

What the Role Involves:

Your role would be responsible for a broad spectrum of financial and accounting matters affecting Global Hedge Fund clients.

The Hedge Fund Accountant or Fund Accounting Associate prepares and processes transactions and financial reports, and exercises sound judgment regarding the proper application of accounting principles to various transactions.

They need to practice solid client service skills and the ability to work not only independently, but also within a team, toward the timely and accurate production of client deliverables.

What You'll Be Doing:

+ Analyze fund performance on a daily and monthly basis

+ Reconcile the funds positions/securities to outside sources

+ Research internal differences between the accounting and trade entry systems

+ Price the fund portfolios

+ Issue P&L reports on a daily basis

+ Calculate fund NAV's

+ Post accounting entries to ledger

+ Perform month-end close processes/financial statement preparation

+ Work with various products including equities, bonds, swaps, options, FX, mortgages, financing and futures

+ Work with auditors to prepare and present year-end financial accounts

What You'll Bring:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related Business field

+ 0-2+ years' experience in Accounting (hedge funds is a plus, not required)

+ Strong academic foundation in financial accounting, i.e. journal entries, cash transactions and reconciliations, non-cash activity, investment activity

+ Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge

+ Solid written and verbal communication skills

+ Positive attitude with a team player mentality

+ Good analytical skills and high attention to detail
