Job Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Certification/Licensure: Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) / Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Georgia preferred; or ability to become licensed.
Experience: Some prior experience in a clinical veterinary setting preferred.
Skills:
Strong animal handling and restraint skills
Ability to perform phlebotomy, place catheters, take radiographs, monitor anesthesia, etc.
Good communication skills (with veterinarians, staff, and clients)
Basic computer skills for record keeping / scheduling / laboratory data entry
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to ~40-75 lbs (animals or equipment)
Comfortable standing, bending, stooping, and moving throughout clinic for extended periods
Must be able to work in an environment with animals who may be stressed, injured, or ill
Preferred Qualifications:
1-2+ years of veterinary technician experience
Experience with dental procedures, advanced lab diagnostics
Experience working in a fast-paced clinic environment
Familiarity with clinic management software / radiology and imaging tools

Position Summary:
The duties of the Dean School of Business & Industries Federal Work Study Student Aid include assisting staff and faculty with preparation for research, classroom instruction, departmental operational needs, or performing administrative and other support duties as required.
Positions may be filled based on individual applicants' skills, qualifications, and departmental needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist the College of Business & Industry Faculty/Staff.
Assist with Administrative and Clerical Duties as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be enrolled as a Jax State student taking at least six (3) hours per fall or spring semester. (Requirements for international students below. *)
If not a first-time student, the applicant must have a GPA of 2.00 or higher.
