20% discount on elevated prices. It is a very strict environment, but there are so many wonderful people, unappreciated but seriously good working with.

point system is unrealistic & punitive (get stuck in traffic? too bad. that cost u 5 points if you are more than 2 minutes 58 seconds late.

Working at Heinens is mostly enjoyable. The schedule includes one close per week. The upper managers are easy to get along with. There are plenty of opportunities to advance if you want to. Union benefits and pay.

Many of the department managers are very young and inexperienced. As an older worker I sometimes need to flex some muscle to avoid being treated as a novice employee, as opposed to an employee with multiple decades of experience.

My favorite benefit at Heinens is the 20% discount. High quality food at a discount price, no limits on anything, except alcohol, which is controlled by law.

They are active and are seen in the store on a regular basis. Very approachable.

The director needs to be more forceful. Employees standing around doing nothing and accomplishing nothing should not be tolerated. Not that everyone should be working all the time, but the amount of wasted time is major.

I reflected on my years working in retail and gave honest answers.

The compensation exceeds what I was paid as a manager in non-union positions.
