    Under the guidance of shop leadership, conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on both Diesel and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles to maintain GFL's fleet in safe and continuous “road ready” condition. Essential Functions: · Under supervisor of maintenance department leadership and senior-level mechanics, diagnose, repair and maintain GFL's Diesel and CNG fleet. · Complete basic inspection of brake systems, engine components, emission systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition. · Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions and ensure they are working properly. · Perform standard electronic diagnostics and repair electrical equipment and hydraulic systems. · Perform DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles. · Complete reports, work orders, order parts and perform other administrative duties as required daily. · Complete work as scheduled by shop supervision or higher-grade technicians. · Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with all safety regulations. · Must have a Brake safety certificate and 609 A/C system certification. · Active participation in training classes and development opportunities to increase skills and working knowledge. · Maintain a clean work area. Education, Training, Experience and Licensing/Certification Requirements: · Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other related state and federal regulations. · Ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization and communicate with customers and external vendors. · Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. · Experience using diagnostic software is preferred. Must be computer literate and willing and able to be trained in software systems. · Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred, or the willingness and ability to obtain one within six (6) months of employment. · ASE certifications preferred. · 3+ years of diesel/CNG maintenance experience. Qualifications: Working knowledge of basic mechanical principles such as gear ratios, torque, proper use of common hand tools, common mechanical nomenclature, etc. Familiarity with common types of bearings, bushings, couplers, shafting and similar power transmission components. Demonstrable knowledge of the fundamental principles of either pneumatic systems or hydraulic systems; preferably both. Prior experience as Refuel/Defuel, Aircraft Jack, and Tow Team Supervisor. Prior experience performing other miscellaneous aircraft services including but not limited to Lox, Hydraulic, and Engine Oil, service aircraft tire/struts, and must be familiar with handling HAZMAT/HAZWASTE materials. Desired Skills: Six (6) years of experience on C-130 any variant experience aircraft as a USAF 7-Level APG, HYD, ENG Mechanic, or USMC 6256/6216 CDI equivalent. Visit & to read more about who we are and the products we make! · Assist with coordination of detachment requirements with Crew Chiefs (as necessary) · The Aircraft Mechanic troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls · Additional responsibilities as delineated by Production Supervisor and Crew Chiefs **Qualifications** Qualifications · Minimum requirements of this position include, but are not limited to, an A&P certification or at least 5 years of military aircraft maintenance equivalency. · Must be capable of performing unsupervised complex maintenance actions and holds or has held a QAR qualification, engine turn qualification or advanced trouble shooting experience. Must be capable of managing assigned additional collateral programs, training junior mechanics on aircraft systems / GOP's / safety practices, competent in the use of specialized tooling and/or test equipment and supervises aircraft servicing. · Performance will be continuously monitored by supervision and reviewed annually with the employee. · Must be able to lift 50 lbs · Must be able to climb in and out of the Aircraft * Must be able to stand for long periods of time. ***How We Care*** At Textron Systems, our talented people make us successful.
