Job description

Apprentices provide assistance to Journeyman electricians. They perform a wide variety of basic electrical task. And help on new construction jobs in addition to larger service projects and remodels. Apprentices benefit the most by gaining knowledge in the electrical trade and the opportunity to earn their journeyman electrical license all while earning top wages and benefits!

Requirements

• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from the job. (unless you qualify for company vehicle)
• 18 years or older.
• Able to lift, pull and move weights ranging from 70lbs or more.
• Climb ladders and scaffolding of various heights.
• Ability to use most power and hand tools.
• Provide your own basic hand tools and tool pouch.
• Work in a variety of climates in and outdoors in Iowa weather year-round.
• Pass both a background check and drug screening.
• Have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be a self-starter and highly motivated.
• Follow directions.
• Attend evening classroom time 1 day per week following normal school year.

Required Skills:

+ Skillset of working with hand and power tools including, but not limited to pipe threading machines, band saws and measuring devices.

+ Safety conscious and familiar with OSHA.

+ Familiar with common materials and tools associated with the mechanical marine construction industry.

+ Effective customer service and communication skills.

+ Meticulous and strong problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

+ Strong work ethic and integrity

+ Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and lift equipment.

Description:

+ Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the duties and responsibilities include the following:

+ Assist pipefitter/technicians in daily job duties

+ Exhibit excellent customer service

+ Perform other duties assigned, including attending training classes

+ Ability to lift and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50lbs.

+ Ability to climb ladders

+ Ability to work well with others.

Other:

+ Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record

+ Must be available to travel, which may include nights and weekends

+ Must be able to lift and move equipment and tools weighing up to fifty pounds

+ Must be at least 18 years old or hold a high school diploma or equivalent

+ Cheerful outlook and willingness to learn

+ Must be able to pass background check

+ Must be able to pass a drug screen

+ Must have a smart phone capable of running time keeping applications.

+ Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer. No sponsorship is available for this position.

+ Work schedule is Monday thru Thursday 5:00am - 3:30pm, overtime may be required, depending on the circumstances and or scheduling of job tasks. Overnight stays may also be required, which will include company paid hotel and daily per-diem.
