Responsibilities * Responds promptly to customer service calls, conducts thorough inspections of plumbing issues, accurately diagnoses problems, offers effective solutions and estimates, and successfully closes service sales. * With the necessary licensing, proficiently installs and repairs various plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners. * Conduct sewer and drain cleaning services in diverse environments such as basements, roofs, confined spaces, and close quarters. Ensure thorough cleaning and restoration of work sites to meet pre-job conditions. * Prepares invoice, totaling costs of services/products provided. Collects payment and explains Roto-Rooter guarantee, both in writing and on provided smartphone. * Collect payment and move on to the next service call. Requirements * A valid driver's license. * State plumbing license is preferred. * Three or more years of repair and service plumbing experience required. Proven track record in the sale of plumbing products and services required. * Full knowledge of plumbing systems is essential for performing duties. * Plumbers are expected to gain Excavation Certification through Competent Person Training (OSHA requirement) within the first year of employment. Journeyman license or equivalent certification as specified by the state in which branch operates and performs service. Unlicensed plumbers will be expected to obtain certification as soon as they become eligible, if necessary, by state law. * Must have good written and oral communication skills for effective customer service. Role and Responsibilities Assist with specialized craft activities, including fabrication, welding, installation, or maintenance of industrial systems under the guidance of skilled craftsmen. Transport and handle materials, tools, and equipment efficiently, ensuring that all necessary resources are readily available for the team. Prepare materials for use by cutting, grinding, or shaping components as directed by supervisors. Assist with the installation and assembly of industrial systems or machinery, such as piping, electrical systems, or equipment. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and industrial machinery to complete tasks under supervision. Mix, pour, and apply materials like concrete, mortar, or epoxy coatings to surfaces. Assist in the assembly and disassembly of scaffolding and other temporary structures needed for specialized work. Ensure that safety protocols and guidelines are adhered to during all tasks, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting any hazards to supervisors. Perform quality checks on work tasks to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Clean and maintain tools, machinery, and work areas, ensuring they are ready for use. Qualifications and Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of experience in an industrial or construction environment, with some exposure to specialized craft work. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other industrial equipment. Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or project plans. Knowledge of basic industrial safety practices and ability to follow safety guidelines. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team. Good physical endurance and the ability to perform manual labor tasks. Must be able to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and handle a variety of work environments. Preferred Skills: Experience in a specialized craft area (e.g., refractory, fabrication, scaffolding). OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Basic first aid or CPR certification. Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision when required. Physical Requirements Work is primarily performed on construction job sites, exposed to outdoor elements and varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces or elevated areas depending on the project. Physical labor may be required, including the ability to lift and move equipment or materials. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times for safety. Flexibility to work extended hours or on weekends as project schedules require.
