The Air Conditioner Technician Helper assists the Air Conditioner Technician in the installation, maintenance, and repair of marine air conditioning systems on boats and yachts. This individual will learn and develop skills in servicing and troubleshooting AC systems while providing support to the lead technician.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Air Conditioner Technician in diagnosing malfunctions in marine AC systems.
Assist in the installation of new AC systems on boats and yachts, including running refrigerant lines and electrical wiring.
Assist in the performance of routine maintenance on AC systems, such as cleaning coils, changing filters, and checking refrigerant levels.
Assist in the repair or replacement of defective AC components, such as compressors, evaporators, and condensers.
Assist in the troubleshooting of electrical wiring, control panels, and circuit breakers.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Learn and adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including proper handling of refrigerants.
Assist in the documentation of all work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
Transport tools and equipment to job sites.
Other duties as assigned.
